Lo and behold, get back from a week's holiday to find the new windscreen has cracked. Crack starts from the corner under the seal so I'm assuming it's a installation fault ? What gets me is that I was promised that the windscreens were no different to OEM with regard to quality and that after the ordeal above, their top technician of the franchise would install it. NZBMW, wondering if you were able to put me in contact with your mate? Or have a copy of the letter. I'm getting over traveling to Penrose to sort this bloody car. Going to go back to State and tell them it's their problem.

Seemed super knowledgeable and unbiased) from Sallens Panel Beaters said that after they polish the scratches out, the clear will still be >100 micron thick. 40+ micron is needed to maintain UV resistance.

Gaz, yea i tried that. State wouldn't have a bar of it. Weren't keen when I requested a BMW/Pilkington screen either. Taking the e36 into Sallens in Penrose to get its damage assessed which means I'll be able to take a look at the E91. My main concern is that *insert windscreen company* will request that it just gets the paint cut with a compound to remove the deep scratches, and consequently thin out the paint and they'll wash their hands of it.

Yea that's the plan. Was pretty shocked as I had specifically asked for this company. When it rains it bloody pours! Misses just got home with the E36 and there's been a card left. Bumpers been hit while parked ? Anyone recommend a really good repairer in the Penrose area? That won't write off old faithful?

Good evening all, Recently had a chipped windscreen go in for replacement at a well known repairers. Got the car home to find an incredible amount of bad workmanship. Seals not fitted correctly, lower cowl sitting proud allowing water in, sealant EVERYWHERE (front quarter guards, bonnet, A pillars, rv mirror, interior, dash etc.), but worst of was the deep scratches. So I quickly sent in photos in and email and was told to bring the car into another branch with a better rep we're they'd replace the windscreen and send the car to the panel beaters. Fast forward a week, get the call to collect my beloved E91. Windscreen looks real good. Scratches removed from the guard, but not from the bonnet. Was told the guard was re-sprayed, but the marring still present from previous washes are still there, obviously just been hit with compound. Posting to see if anyone here has been in this position before. Where to from here? Would it be too much for me to ask for my own repairer? Cheers guys!

Yea I definitely agree. Otherwise there may be an overlap/underlap between application of products. Power tools relate, looking for for an impact wrench atm too. But i figure I need to find a brand that covers all areas of power tools I need so I can stick with one charger, battery etc. Free shipping, decent price.. Quite tempted.

Afternoon all, I've been wanting to graduate from the usual SCA/REPCO car wash products for a while now, but I'm unsure on what products to turn to. I use the double bucket method with grit guards, hogs hair brushes, wool mitts, DA polisher etc. alongside the "Nu Finish" range. I watch a lot of Ammo NYC detailing clips on YouTube, but he uses his own line of products that will sting with freight charges. Do you have any first hand experience of products like Gyeon, ValetPro, Waxaddict or others that are readily available in NZ? Random pic to keep it interesting

Is the rear bumper trim available?

Had a week off so decided to give the work wagon a tidy up. Relined the headlining and pillars, fitted leather rears, m-rain half leather fronts and dyed the parcel tray. Looks like a whole different car! Problems arose when I put the fronts in. Driver seat was straight plug and play, passenger seat was a different story (see pic). Body wiring has 3x wires. White/red, white/purple and orange/brown. Seat has 2x wires. Blue and white. I've tried hunting online but no luck and I'm unsure if they're different because ti vs. coupe, FL vs. PFL etc. Any help would be good, oh and of course I switched on the ignition so I now have an airbag light . If you had a reset tool I could pinch that would be awesome! Average photo because of course I lent on my phone lens whilst installing the seats

Hey Glenn! Spoke to you yesterday about servicing the thing. Am going to look into getting it serviced by bm workshop soon. Apparently it's "good to go for another 15,000kms" but I'd rather be proactive.

I winged it. I went to BM Workshop to ask if they could but there was a two week waiting list. Taking it to them soon for a service even though it apparently had one.

I wouldn't touch that 335i with a barge pole. 325i looks alright but we were ideally after a LCI with CIC, exterior changes in the facelift almost makes it look like another model. I'm stoked with ours and should see us through the next 3+ years. I got it cheaper than above with the nav/radio conversion and 3 year mech warranty through Autosure. Unsure what to insure it for, currently $16k agreed through state.

I may finally be able to rest, I think I have found the one I'm after. You experts out there, what would you pay for the following.. 2008 e91 325i lci . Full service history, fresh import, 70,000kms. I couldn't fault it at all on the exterior. Ride was average (hopefully due to runflats?), interior is mint. Only thing bad would be non Bluetooth I-drive and jap maps. $15-$16k?

Off to see 325i LCI touring tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Since there seems to be a good collection of owners of this generation, what have you done about the tyre situation? Stuck with the run flats? Or gone to the normal type, where'd you put the spare?
