Welcome Michael. There are a few of us in Wellington with more than the odd few BMW bits and pieces and a little bit of knowledge on what to do and where to get things.

It might help you if people knew where the hell you are. Obviously people in Kaitaia might not think too much of replying if they know you live on Stewart Island. You ain't exactly helping yourself.

Which Z3 rack are you looking for.

They should never be put in the attic. Even putting an M50 in the boot of your car gains you 30HP. Just ask Ron

Who was the retard who came with the idea of having a scrambled messages to stop robot computers posting messages and spam. I have tried recently to join two websites. In both instances they used the CAPTCHA or however you spell it. Again in both instances the written scrambled words were illegible. Being very savvy for an old guy I thought the voice method would help overcome any visual impairment I may suffer. In both cases the verbal message sounded like the noise someone would make when they are being strangled. Am I mistaken in thinking the system was developed to keep out robotic and spam messages. Is it to keep normal folks out.

Your problem is shipping companies ship by volume and usually have a minimum cubic capacity which I think is 1 cubic metre. I never ship small items like a couple of brake rotors and try to ship a pallet load atleast otherwise the cost is too high. The alternative is to try and get a few others to ship with you but that can be a pain in the butt when you have to collect GST and inspection fees etc.

People should also know that Ebay has many many companies of it's own selling items on the net. They will most likely all be at this practice so they could be raking in vast sums of money under the guise of it's global shipping programme. Under this practice the freight costs are extremely high. Much higher than USPS as Ebay insist on using the highest possible cost for the fastest courier even on items you may not need urgently. Luckily I have relatives in the US who I can get items shipped to for free and get the relative to on ship it to me. I use Kiwi Shipping for the bigger items.

I buy quite a few items online and when I go to order an item I check if they use the Ebay shipping policy. Here is one I have questioned and won't accept that what they are doing is fraudulent. It is one of many companies I suggest you avoid buying from. That is not us scamming or trying to take money. That is eBays global shipping program that you are using so they collect the prepaid taxes so they can set it up for you. eBays global shipping program is new this year and they just implemented this so that international customers can get their packages quicker and easier. Even if shipping costs of $75 US is added to the purchase price of $229 and 80 cents exchange rate the cost is $380 NZ and therefore no GST is payable on your purchase. Ebay are operating a massive scam and will be making money hand over fist.

Has anyone else noticed that Ebay is scamming customers by pushing sellers of products to use their global shipping policy and charging "import fees" on items that do not attract any fees. Many of Ebays own companies are in on the scam as well. Just recently I was about to purchase items when I noticed that not only were the shipping charges much higher than usual but also that at the check out there were import charges added to the transaction. I queried the charging of these fees and was told it was to make things smoother for buyers of products when they arrive in New Zealand. I told them there are no fees of any kind on items that are below the threshold of $400 and that to charge these non existent fee was fraudulent. The sellers don't do anything about it and have advised it is nothing to do with them and blamed Ebay. I just thought you should be aware of this scam. I used another seller instead. II would take the matter up with Ebay but ringing up the criminals to advise them are committing fraud might not produce any result.

I am wondering just how many positive votes or likes we get each day. I have tried posting "likes" on a few things and each time I get told I have used up my quota for the day. On that basis my quota must be zero. Is it like a bus schnapper ticket where you buy a top up. I know fish quotas have been reduced recently and maybe my quota has been sold or stolen.

I have a pedal box for a manual E30. PM me for details. I am coming to Hampton Downs this weekend so if you make an early decision I could bring it up.

I have noticed a deterioration over the years of spelling standards and it has now got so bad I wonder about the legal situation of some possible purchases. One engine I am looking at has been described as a "bear engine" . I know that bears hibernate in winter so if the engine didn't run in the winter would I have a claim through the small claims court. I also know that bears eat skunk weed to get rid of constipation. Skunk weed is aptly named so if the engine started emitting foul smells would I have a claim bearing in mind that it has been described as a "bear engine". Bears also swipe things so if i got pissed and side swiped a few cars parked on the side of the road would the fact that I had a bear engine be a legitimate defence. Does Bimmersport have a legal expert that help clarify such issues.
