  1. After some research, i'm either going to look at an alternative donor car or flick the engine on TM and look at geting an m3...seems far too much hassle for all the work/cost just too power up my 318.
  2. Welcome mate and +1 on the friendly (well sometimes ) people. lol
  3. I had never even thought of a swap until i was offered the engine and you are right i have done absolutly no research...this was my first port of call. From what you guys have said it may just have to be something i plod along doing slowly and aquiring parts as there is no longer a donor car, just the engine and trans. I think i was more meaning, will it fit in the engine bay, will i need to fluff around cutting etc etc but i had'nt even thought about drive train, brakes etc...today i will do some searching and see how i get on.
  4. That is EXACTLY why i came and asked on the internet...bimmersport.co.nz is that you know lol I just figured, why not ask on my local forums before scrolling through the no doubt 10's of thousands of pages on google...but if these threads and forums are not for people asking Q's on how too's and DIY stuff from those who've done it before, perhaps i should find other forums that do encourage those things, as opposed to..."go search the net" help
  5. Hey guys i have been able to get my hands on a S50 engine plus 5 speed gearbox from a 2001 Z3 M!! i just want to know how difficult it will be to fit in my e36 and also what sort of money would the engine be worth? Cheers
  6. Hey guys have an issue with my central locking, that when i lock it with the key it unlocks again, i realise this may be an actuator/module issue, but really want to know if it will just be the main one or whether i have to pull all the doors apart to find the faulty one. thanks in advance
  7. From the AA site **And we'll also cover you for up to $4,000 if an uninsured driver crashes into your car. ** for third party so as long as you are not worried about fire or theft you should be ok!
  8. Who's your insurance company?? tsk tsk, AA insurance had me sorted when an uninsured driver/car crashed into me, i only had 3rd party but they covered the cost and then claimed it back from him...though after it was repaired i heard nothing more, they did everything!!
  9. No i saw him at his old mans funeral at the start of the year (Tom ex Kc's owner) but was not the ideal situation for a catch up. fairly sure he's no longer in hospo anymore though could be wrong, very rarely make it to town anymore...getting too long in the tooth bro lol
  10. Yeah graham you are right, it was bought by a group of rich mummys boys who's parents fronted them the 600k needed and they 'prettied' it up which took some of the character away imo, they then used the capital to buy another bar in the octagon (Alibi) and own Velvet burger and Cook construction which are all doing well...so i guess they do have a business head. Most of the pressure is def coming from the Uni as the "Incidents" that are happening are no different to when you me and the boys used to bust down there G...they just want the land
  11. If it is his fault, you let your insurance co know and then they organise to claim the money from him via his insurance or through baycorp but pay for yours to get fixed. If you know little about this, contact CAB or your community law centre!
  12. I think it's the old woolshed/backstage it may have changed name again though!
  13. I used to live right next door to gardies during my student days and the main problem with it, is its in a residential area and has to close at 12am, still didn't stop it being packed out pretty muxh every night though! It seems alot of the the classic old school student pubs (Bowler, Gardies, Captain Cook, Ori etc) are getting pressured by the DCC/Otago University etc to close their doors early or eventually close down for good so the Uni can buy the prime land (in case of the bowler) Would be a shame if it closes down but i can see someone buying it out right instead of having 5 million investors buying a part of it
  14. Good job mate, are you gonna tell us all what the car is now lol!!
  15. Your trouble is, if what you have explained have missed payments/final payment and if you are saying you couldn't get his account details but it had been coming out of you pay, that's an excuse!! Contact your employer/ex and get the number! you also need to prove that he was deliberately avoiding you to void the contract...and does not say his net was not working/lost cellphone etc etc I would suggest you contact CAB or your local Community Law Centre
  16. Infact if he has agreed to sell it and the buyer has a written contract with terms and conditions and the buyer sticks to those...the contract is in the buyers favor...he is also not lucky at all!!! he got a contract written up, so by law the person who has received the money is required to return all monies minus an admin fee(usually 5%)
  17. +1 If i were you i would get my hands on the balance owing, loan/family etc then go see the seller before the contract expires with the balance before thinking of taking legal action etc...i would think if you do not fulfil the contract then the seller has the rights to resell and return monies paid by you minus any admin cost!
  18. We checked mine in a bit of a hori way, by jacking it up putting blocks underneath then having someone put it in gear, accelerating then looking at the driveshaft...i'm sure there is a proper way but thats what we did. the vibration in my case you could only really feel over about 80km.
  19. Just a thought! I had a similar situation on one of my old cars and no one could find the cause...it turned out to be the driveshaft was unbalanced and one of the litlle weights(similar to wheels) had broken off and caused the drive shaft to be slightly unbalanced. fixed it with a 2nd hand drive shaft!
  20. Cheers Graham, I've been all over TM and the only have cheap looking plastic ones! my centres are a smooth alloy/aluminium...do the transfers look good?
  21. Just after some fresh ones-68mm anyone have some decent ones or know where i can buy them! chur
  22. Welcome mate, looks like a tidy e30 you have there. +1 on the Elan pics
  23. Didn't think they would. cheers anyway bro!
