Hi, sorry to bring an old topic back. I was searching for any information about an 850i that I own and stumbled on this. Really cool to see it there, and i'll be getting in touch with Mike. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the car's past but would really like to find out anything I can about it. It's new plate is Mea293. I bought the car in Paihia, and have brought it back to Wellington. From what I know, it was involved in an estate sale and so lost its paperwork there. If anyone here knows anything about the car, that would be much appreciated. I've attached some pictures of it now. The picture in front of the house was from when I first picked it up.

Hi, yes i do. That might be a good call, I can ask him. Otherwise i do come up there once in a while myself. Might be a good reason for a track day
-
Hi, still available?
-
Yes they are, that's why he's a smart man for keeping them for his next one

Sad to see it go, but excited about the reason why!

The pictures do not do it justice. Someone is going to get very lucky with this car. Was a pleasure seeing it in person.

Would be interested in parts too.

Sorry to hear you had to let her go, great car. Out of curiosity what is the dial by your head unit? Don't have it on mine.

Hey Driftit any chance you still have that manifold? 😅 would love to pick your brain about turbo m30s at some point.

Sorry to revive an old thread but hoping The H. Behemoth might still be around. A friend and i have been throwing the idea around of an sc14 on an M30B28 would this be something worth pursuing? -
M30 engine - Auto 3speed - M54 dual mass - Aluminum Radiator need gone ASAP!

Hey man i'd be interested in taking the M30 for parts, just don't have a way to transport it yet. -
hahaha it'll be for my dad and he's the same. We'd get in trouble for looking at the car with food in our hands growing up 😂

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know they had two different sites, just got in contact with them through email and got that information. Will give the uk site a go. Ya their products seem to be really good

Hey, I've actually been thinking of doing this on an e31. Going from the factory grey to the same colour as you. Seems like furniture clinic is out of stock now though and are only bringing back limited colours when they return. Fingers crossed this is one of I find an alternative. Did you have to fill any cracks?

Hey sorry for the late response, got caught up with wrapping up my masters. Would love to see your car barry! Kodachrome, that swap sounds great, didn't end up going for the m60? I thought about those too but really loving the m30 at the moment. I also like the idea of keeping the car what it is to an extent and seeing what I can do with it being a factory m30 manual. If I did swap out the b28 I'd probably hold onto it. Or would just keep trying to push what I can do with it, possibly turbo if I can do it cleanly and reliably.

Any chance you had any luck? Also looking for a file or measurements to make one.

Hey, I'm looking for a couple m30 parts to megasquirt my e28 if anyone has a stash. I need an auto throttle position sensor (6 pin) from an e34 or e32, will need the attached plug and some wire to solder to. Also looking for m30 trigger wheel (mounted to the harmonic balancer, front of engine) and associated vr sensor + mounting bracket. Based in Wellington, Thanks!

Would also love to chat to anyone with megasquirt experience on an m30. About to take it on ?

Hey, I'm looking to find someone with an m30b34 or b35 e28 in Wellington to compare notes with. I currently own a 528i and would like to experience them side by side and see if a swap is something id want to consider in the future. I've heard the b35 has buckets of torque but the b28 revs happier which is something I actually really enjoy about it. Would love to meet up, if anyone is keen to see a very healthy b28. The don't seem to be very common. Thanks, Karun S.

For an m30? If you feel like shipping them to Wellington I'd take them.

Thanks! Ya she's great, tests your patience here and there but always worth it.

Hey, ya she isn't so bad. Just something about driving around with it that's making me a little crazy though ? so really looking forward to getting it sorted. Ah that's a shame about the panel beater, disappearing art. I haven't posted the parts list yet because a previous owner of the car actually reached out to me and has been really helpful. He owns a bmw restoration shop in Auckland and so says he might be able to sort me out on parts. So waiting to see what he digs up.

Hey, everyone sorry for such a late reply with updates and thanks so much for all the advice. @Olaf you hit the nail on the head with the advice i needed, thanks so much for all that. I managed to talk it through with the insurance company and it has come to the agreement that i am handling all the repairs for a payout of $4400, which should hopefully cover it. They will not be deregistering the car which was a big relief and gave me a couple options for insurance. I will have to cancel the current policy and open a new third party one while working on the repairs, that can then be switched to full cover again when its done. No change in policy cost too which is nice. So all in all its good working with them. Although frustrating, i understand why they didn't put in the leg work for parts and just wanted to close things. I'd like to make sure its done properly anyway and so don't mind the extra time with it. Getting some more information on one of those older panel beaters would be great actually, especially since experience really tends to show with that and paint. Good to hear about the Datsun, what was it and is it still around? Any chance i'd be able to get in touch with Phil about the panel beater out in Rongotea? That sounded like an option worth exploring. Thanks Again!
