  1. Good luck, I hope it all works out. There is a Monaco blue one that was a barn find that I missed out on that sold for under 2k, it needed the fuel system refurbed and a clean. It has been for sale for the past 6 months on and off with no takers since being cleaned up. The e34 market is a bit all over the place at the moment. That said, you have a low km car which will help - BUT it came from HK and that can stand against it as many buyers see that as a long term electronic nightmare due to high humidity exposure. I'm sure what ever happens you will get more than what you would have traded it for, and if it's still around in a couple of months I'll be in touch.
  2. One of the annoying professional hats I wear is information security and while I would love to believe in humanity, I'm with @poggle112233. I hope a phone call later it will all be great and you will have cash in hand.
  3. If it looks like a duck.... Shoot it. Put a comment on your listing about how contact should be correctly made. It's hard enough to sell a car without some a$$hat trying to pull a fast one.

Just survived dinner with the inlaws, don't even know where to start that rant 😁

Agree, and that's one reason I went the DeWalt route - Makita spares are hugely overpriced, it used to be a premium brand but these days unless you are buying the absolute top of the trade range they are one step removed from Ryobi. Anyway - grab a bunch of Aliexpress for way less: 4 pack for $20 if you can wait the 2 - 4 weeks it will take to get here. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001320420609.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.709c6ea6kuiRuc&algo_pvid=d833f52e-46cd-4dd9-9c9d-27200352845c&algo_exp_id=d833f52e-46cd-4dd9-9c9d-27200352845c-8&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"10000015706070627"}&pdp_npi=2%40dis!NZD!16.63!13.47!12.31!!!!%402101e9d016609713568598420ee694!10000015706070627!sea&curPageLogUid=1emEvdFUWPbA
  6. Go to a reputable BMW independent and get them to resolve it. No one likes fixing another shops problems, but most will take pity if it's a straight forward fix and sort you a good price. That has been my experience anyway. I'm sure that other members here can point you to some non main dealer service centers in your neck of the woods.
  7. Overseas people use VINWIKI quite a lot to document the history of cars, it has yet to take off in NZ though. Obviously there are issues with any online WIKI as it is a public run db- my issue with this sale is that there is a strong possibility that someone could buy this without any idea of the history of the car, a car that on paper regardless of how well it was repaired or converted is not as advertised. Omitting details is not appropriate on a 100k sale. I have family that bought a super low km classic from a reputable car museum, who completely ignored the fact that the car had been well shunted. Due to the age of the car and repair it was not on any documentation, but later when questioned about it a huge back story suddenly came to light. People who know me wonder why I'm a control freak and have trust issues....... Genuine people are getting harder to come by everyday.
  8. Pretty sure it would be sold already if it was in Auckland 😁
  9. What are you actually wanting for it, there are plenty of us that have impulse issues and are great at man maths.
  10. That's a nice example, fits what I've been looking for. Wife has unfortunately stopped me buying another toy for the next few months. Pity to see it traded for peanuts.
  11. No it's only worth 100k to the scammer trying to sell it for 100k.

I blame the Kardashians, famous for being famous? WTF. Now we have a generation that is confused about where to inject fat, where to remove it and how many followers they can get doing it..... 😁

On an almost dead straight 50 km/h road near my house, two power poles taken out in 7 days. Lines down etc.

@Jacko Bugger, it's all good because the millions being spent on average speed cameras will totally change the way they drive....... FFS, let's spend tens of millions on "safety" cameras. I'm sure that 14 year old who is doing 180 up the motorway after doing a ram raid for cherry flavoured vape liquid knowing the cops won't tail them will totally be worried about that speeding, sorry safety ticket. Meantime feel free to dial *555 and wait. Feel the love, when the cops decide to do anything that is proactive in my local community rather than simply attending accident scenes and directing traffic I'll happily change my tune. Rant over, mic drop.....
  15. Yes, for a proper review of your listing we are going to need material to work with. So inflated price, rubbish images, overly opinionated "my car is worth this take it or leave it" replies to questions, and make sure you blur out the plate in the images and then add it in the listing text. Don't forget that you will be taking payment in any form of digital coin, swaps for land, and please put forward the heart felt sob story of why you are selling this beloved car.
  16. Sure just send the link through so we don't have to look for it......
  17. There have been a couple of wreckers in NZ do time as a result of supplying the vin plates to do this.
  18. This is epic, for a daily in a modern world this is just so cool. We are approaching a time where things like this conversion make sense, and the finish is great without being over the top. Obviously not cheap, but then nothing like this is ever going to be.
  19. I'll check then out, thanks.
  20. Tempting, but I have been offered cash from a wrecker that will do a collection service - so that may be the best option. Highly doubt the storage yard would like me hacking up a car on site unfortunately.
  21. I have an old lancer that is rusted to the core and has been sitting in storage for years, I need to get rid of this beast as it just takes up space and storage is not free. My question is has anyone has an issue free car disposal experience in Auckland? Currently the car is registered with a personalised plate, I will be swapping the plate to a normal one and then deregistering the car as it is strictly a parts bin and will never go back on the road. It would seem that every car disposal / wrecker has a pile of questionable reviews (which I take with grain of salt), so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. Cheers.
  22. That is a great vid, Piotr Wieceks S15 is always great to watch, regardless of who is driving - and that sim racer clearly has some talent. Anyone who has no time for the local or American drift antics should watch the Driftmaster series. Between Piotr (who just seems like the nicest guy in motorsport) and James Deane there is some insane talent, with way less over caffeinated fat yanky commentator to ruin your day.
  23. I like the one on the right......

Agree, I'm living proof. Just smoked out the lounge while the recently repainted firebox did its final cure. Nice combo of wife putting masses of the firebox black paint on and me forgetting to light a slow burning fire for the first curing session...... Now if it had rod bearings we wouldn't be having this discussion, but I'm pretty merciless to a firebox from cold.
