Hang on is that a 991 in your driveway?! Jealous
-
That’s a fairly short list of European car love bites hehe! Keeping you keen by keeping things interesting is a very tidy GTI Kees, looks nice and they are rare here in NZ. You can get the whine and similar fun from a Cooper S at 1/3 price of a GP, reduction pulley and a few tweaks. And have a back seat. Am not sure which would be less reliable out of that, a GP or your Pug! If you’re in Wellington anytime you’re welcome to pop it around some corners, if I still have it.

I had an R56 JCW with that engine: Went well and had no trouble but first owner had already had it decoked before 40kms. Traded it for an F20 116i 🤔. It might be a case of “never meet your heroes”. Cars are a funny drug.
-
You’re welcome to drive it if you’re down this way anytime.
-
Generally no. As in ride you mean? They’re not worse, much, than a Cooper S or normal JCW which means you don’t take bumps or kerbs lightly but in return you get go kart flickability. In this one’s case, it is set up at the moment to be firm and low which means the ride is “taught and unforgiving” euphemistically. It can be adjusted but it’s best to assume it is firm.

Aww thanks Kees @Kees… do you a deal!
-
Finally tidied and listed. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/mini/auction-3575214884.htm Will do a deal for Forum members, started at $31k for TradeMe with room to move.

I think you can “restyle” your standard plate at KiwiPlates, fees vary but should be a goer?
-
Aha Kees! @Kees that’s the one, two number plates ago. I have found that article online before too, seems to have been a cherished car. Makes you cry about that 993 price!
-
Sorry I meant Continental Cars Auckland only, not Continental Cars in Wellington
-
I asked them about this a couple of months ago and the person I spoke to said “It is an Auckland thing, we may bring it here”. 😕

Heart emojis all round, looks sweet as Sam @Sammo. Beautiful car
-
Hah so awesome Kees @Kees, hope someone snaps it up

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3550370218.htm It does look pretty ffffiiiinnne -
Sorry to hear about this. When you get it back, maybe time to get a tracker or something like an Apple Air Tag hidden on it. Then you’ll know where it is?
-
Japan market BMWs up to this era often miss cruise. A transitionary period as some do and some don’t, particularly in 1 and 3 series.
-
Do you need cruise Sam @Sammo? Can’t see closely enough but it may not have it, just a speed limiter?
-
I agree. Having been on the end of some far less scrupulous secondhand car deals with buried issues and felt let down by humanity, in contrast you’ve behaved as well as anyone could be expected to. Your conscience should be clear; but acknowledge that it feels “off” to be in your situation. And as you say, 16 year old high performance, complex European car. It has a leak, admittedly an annoyingly expensive one to address, but that’s the nature of the beast.
-
That’s why I asked. Didn’t see you were in the US.
-
Is it left hand drive?
-
I never go to BP, they often never have 95 down here and just have 91 or 98 at ridiculous prices. They do have nice peppery steak pies but I can be agile in my choices of cuisine
-
That annoys me, grrrr. Like the stations that still don’t comply with the requirement to post pricing of all fuel types.

Sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis @SmithyInWelly, and congratulations on spending some money on a toy or two! Your A250 looks really nice, I like that grille but imagine you can get an AMG one online? Great colour!
