  2. Andrew, they use the E30 M3 rotors. Probably cost a pretty bit tho. I may be fiirst in line if you want to sell..... Try this link for the rotors. Rotors
  3. Sounds good, will try them..

    Stubby Black

I got this thing out of Ryan's 320 when I wrecked it. Was mounted in the boot under the rear screen and plugs into the rear window demister in series, and uses the demister as the antenna. Says "Bi-Fi internal car aerial system" on it and is made in England. Havn't tried it out to see if it works.

    320 cab.

Found this early 320 cabriolet on the Turners auction website at Penrose. Has a decent set of 16" Alpina wheels on it.... (looks like Alpinas anyway, might be OZ wheels too...) needs lowering and a turbo 2.7 motor...
  9. Grant is right here, and I have also cross-checked the handbook. One of my E30's has ABS, the other 3 don't. The ABS light is the orange one next to the brake fluid warning light. The brake fluid warning light has nothing to do with ABS. Your ABS will still work even if your brake fluid is low and the warning light is on. (but not too low!!) The ABS light shows a failure in the ABS computer or ABS module.
  10. ABS light is orange and next to these 3. Pic will explain... (E30 dash)
  11. Go to a hydraulics shop, Enzed or similar, and get a brass T fitting that will screw into the block and allow you to put the factory and the new sender on. (It might have to have a few adaptors to make it all work). I would definitely keep the factory sender as a red light will draw your attention to a pressure problem long before you notice a gauge on zero.... (sender circled on pic). Depending on your motor, you may have some blank plugs in the area of the thermostat. (arrowed on pic). Put the water one there. It won't give you the same reading as the factory one because it is on the other side of the thermostat but it will work when the thermostat opens. Sometimes these plugs are not drilled in (left blank) so you will need to drill the sender in. Failing that, there may be blank plugs on the passenger side radiator tank which are used for the aux fan senders which you can put your sender into.
  12. Maybe you could adapt the oil temp sender to fit into the sump plug? That would avoid having to drill into the sump. Others should be easy... What do the senders look like? pic?
  13. I would think that there is a rubber plug missing from the bellhousing. Some cars have a plug here which is removed to set the timing up. Are there any marks inside it on the casing? The pipe from the fan is a drain pipe
  14. I've just looked at doing this. Putting a 2.5 onto an older L-Jet 5sp box without the motronic sensor mountings. (I have a motronic box which I used as a template). Came to the conclusion that it is do-able but not worth the effort (on my part). Would suggest an adjustable mount for the sensors so that they could be fine tuned timing-wise, that is if you really wanted to tackle it.... probably drive you to drink trying to get it perfect tho.. (not that that is a bad thing sometimes)...
  15. I can do a diff change in under an hour and I'm an old fart.... Carl with all his youth should be able to cream it !!!
  16. Couldn't have put it better myself. Nothing to gain by voting Labour for my wife and myself. The one thing that really didn't impress me and convinced me to actually vote against Labour was the honourable prime minister denying having anything to do with the decision to speed to get her to the rugby, and hanging those poor guys out to dry in court. I would have had some respect for her if she had stuck her hand up and taken the blame for it, but now..... Forms the basis for a Tui ad... "yea... right !!!!!"
  17. If you don't know how to open your bonnet, I'm just wondering how you intended to fit an aftermarket temp gauge????? Both Graeme and Gus gave you good advice. From your pitiful attempts at spelling, it appears that your english is so bad you couldn't understand what they were trying to tell you..... so don't come with the comment "thanks for no help"....

Sounds good Andrew, I would really like to have a look at your car and discuss things like 2.7 and turbo... I am on leave at the moment so will be home all next week. I am not far from the L&P Cafe, so give me a yell if you have the time.

  22. My leather steering wheel has come unglued where the leather joins at the bottom of the rim. Needs reglueing and a bit of a stretch. Any ideas as to what glue is used? Or does anybody know of someone who can do this repair?

Have that white 2door 318 here. Had long term intentions of trying to put a 540i motor in it but think I will just transfer the bits into that and find another 2door body later to have fun with. Hey Tim, that beast of yours must go pretty well. Yours is the other slightly milder conversion i was considering if putting the 540 motor in wasn't going to be an option. i just luv the sound of a V8 thou'..

Gus, forget the carpet etc. I have pulled up the carpeting in this thing and the floorboards and sills are shot to hell!! I'm going to wreck it, which is what I intended to do when I bought it anyway but it looked too good when I took delivery of it so thought of putting it back on the road... (is currently dereg..)

Another thing, you wouldn't happen to have kept the carpeting?
