Just finished a e36 manual conversion, and wondering what is involved with recoding the ECU. Car is a 1996 323i. Car seems to run perfectly fine apart from the revs shooting up a little bit when changing gears and the auto transmission error light is illuminated. Why is VVTI no good for boost? Would it not help it spool earlier?

Hrrm yeah, if you get the later 1uz with the VVTI, then that would be the better option than the vh41.

Aww man no questions / answers. Your eyes are too far apart. Nose is definitely crooked. The shape of your face is not aesthetically pleasing at all. You look like a 3/10 with make up in this photo. I don't even want to imagine what you look like without make up. I actually just threw up in my mouth, just thinking about it. Stare at your face for more than 5 seconds, and you will see how ugly you are. The eyes which are too far apart is what ruins /damages an already ugly face even further. Don't even let me start on your dark complexion. It only works if you look hot. Unfortunately, you do not look hot. Its hard to sum up a creature like you in one word. 'UGLY ' would be unfair , since it doesn't reflect how repulsive you look. GROTESQUE is stretching it. But somewhere in between, is where you would be, on the scale of an average car. That system dosent really work, a lot of forums have it and it just gets abused, so in the end doesn't mean anything.

If the starter motor turns out to be the correct one, I could prob get it bought down with the starter.

I've organised a mate who can pick it up who lives in auckland. Are you around on the weekends? / best time to pick up ? Edit: Wait, what starter is it? The old big style one, or smaller one which will fit on a M50?

Interested in starter motor and possibly the battery, I wont be able to pick it up for quite a while tho.. How long are you prepared to hold on to it for?

I have m50 non vanos ecu, think it is still chipped with 7000rpm rev limit. $100 + postage

Is that eaton a m45?

Possible bad earth or starter. If it's not earth problem, try giving the starter a few good whacks with a block of wood or some thing.

Been told that the doors / quarter panels dent much easier once you remove the sound deadening.

I'm not sure how much shorter you could make the rods without the pistons hitting the crank.

Pretty sure you cant, can some times pick a m20 manual conversion kit up for $400~ tho, otherwise they seem to go for $500 - $700.

Yeah, you pretty much need that bracket. Swap it over and get new bolts.
