Yeah I mean non certed engine swaps. A place also passed my friends E30 318i with M52 swap, well they failed it on the bucket seats and missing rear seats but they passed it on the re inspection with standard seats reinstalled. Does anyone know what the deal is with removing the rear seats? I was under the impression it was fine as long as the seatbelts were also removed. (car is a coupe with non reclinable bucket seats, so no point in having back seats)

Are you sure? IIRC they have some wires that go to the engine ECU.I converted a PFL e30 from motronic 1.0 or 1.1 or whatever it was to motronic 1.3 (needed new loom, and crank trigger etc) and after that the gearbox was stuck in limp mode, the TCU obviously was not getting a required signal from the ECU. It probably gets engine RPM so it can calculate torque converter slip or some thing and maybe also grabs engine load amongst other things. There is a place that rebuilds the 4hp22 and replaces the clutches and other parts from a 4hp24 which are much larger and stronger, not sure if it requires any machining or the parts may be a direct swap.

Some do, some dont, if it does it will have an electrical plug on the left hand side of it just above the oil pan. These gearboxes arent very strong anyway. Edit: I think the 'EH' denotes that it is the electronic version, it is easy enough to double check by looking anyway.

Ive used the second one there for changing oil on boats alot and sucking out bilges. It got ALOT of use, but eventually the seals in it wore out and you had to pump the sh*t out of it for it to suck at all. Worked pretty good, tho was rather slow when having to suck 40L of thick 2 stroke diesel oil out.

Air cleaner dosent get cold enough. You need some thing cold like CO2 or some thing and invert the can so that liquid CO2 comes out.

Im not sure if the exhaust thing is cert-able either. Need to look into it, as there is some people using it and getting some good vacuum this way. Its not quite finished but very close and currently apart. Ill send some pics later, dont have a thread. Yes I built it my self.

You can remove the water lines from the throttle body, it will be fine.Yes, you can remove that boot. You prob dont want to run it anyway. Connect the booster to the manfold, make sure you still use the one way valve. On a turbo car you would route it to the turbo inlet. Alot of people dont like this as you will get a film of oil all through your turbo, charge piping, and intercooler. You can also route it to the exhaust via a special one way valve, the exhaust will draw a vaccum on it.
