Which of these is the video module?
Tristan replied to Tristan's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Ok, thanks guys. Found it. Doesn't look very accessible. I spose it will have to be removed to do anything with? Also easy to remove the jap nav on the roof on the boot? Very annoying :\ -
Mean photos and nice car! Edit: How much for the set of photos? I've had a look round haven't found a price. Keen to get some once I've got my wheels

Anyone else seen the VW Golf lowered on purple BBS(?) wheels? Saw it outside Team McMillan. Looked tits.

The satisfaction of sacking and rimming...... your car. Edit: There is far worse than rainbow kiss. I'm sure the other younger guys on here know what I'm talking of ? Angry pirate? Spartan? Dirty sanchez? Rusty trumpet? Or this just my smutty school? Be advised bad idea to google any of the above. Perhaps urban dictionary if you want a literary definition without pics. haha

Replaced the front windscreen molding. In the process burnt the tips of my fingers to oblivion on windscreen and body panels.

Well I picked up the new molding today and just finished putting it in. Probably took about an hour and a half. Had a couple of breaks as a result of 25 degree Auckland weather and my car being parked in the sun. This had its advantages and disadvantages. Definitely not as easy and the Americans on bimmerfest and M5board alluded to. Was quite fiddly, but then again could just be me. The heat made the new molding softer which made it a bit easier to get in. Then again the heat also made my windshield and surrounding panels hot enough to fry an egg on. The tips of my fingers are blistering now Overall, pretty happy with the job. Here are pics:

You're in Auckland right? I had a bit've a look at installing an AUX into my car without taking out the factory unit because it has a TV in it but I got quoted around $350 to JUST install and AUX through the glove compartment. A DICE unit is similar pricing to this right? Probably better too ... ?

Yeah I'm sure I've seen it 'round.
-
I'll be sure to take before photos.
-
I may misread but what if someone jumps on orange and another car comes through not stopping for his orange (to red)
-
Seen this around Auckland so much.

Cannot agree enough with this, even being myself 18. 2 guys I know driving WRXs. Both younger than myself. One of them blew his first engine at 259kph. Rich parents replaced it with another WRX within a week. Other one brags of reaching 250+kph. f**king idiots to be honest. Whilst it does come to stupidity, I don't blame them. If I had the power there I'd probably be using it too. I could've gotten a WRX or Evo but chose the 530i. It takes a lot of restraint, responsibility and maturity to drive a car with that much power. Something I (nor them for that matter) have. Then again, I'm not the one driving the WRX. But we're the ones sharing the roads with them. Should be engine/aspiration restrictions corresponding to driving experience. Not just license type, but also years in possession of that license, courses completed etc etc. /rant

Yeah, I spent a good 3 or 4 months searching for the right car. I wanted black or white. And definitely no wood grain interior haha. Not sure if it's a young people thing but it's godawful haha. Nonetheless it's not an expensive mod to swap over the trim but better to buy it how you want it I 'spose. If you want any info on the E39s I'm happy to help you out with anything I can. Good luck.
