  1. I understand that you're reasonable Darren, but like Julian says those Waiheke folk can spin a damn good yarn! (know from experience) I'd also get the charges reversed. Get a DETAILED breakdown of costs from the chap and shop around for cheaper quotes/confirmation that the price is realistic. Personally, I wouldn't be paying him anything, especially if the wife thinks the crack was already there!
  2. That's very diplomatic of you. Do you think you caused the damage?

Colour looks absolutely stunning there! If you do retire the wheels let me know as I MAY be interested depending on timing. Just about to PM you.
  4. Before you took control of the car was there any "walk around" process identifying damage to the vehicle i.e. dents, scratches, etc. I'm on Waiheke every other weekend and can tell you that some of the people will take advantage of any situation to get some extra dollars; even businesses. Unless he can prove that it was you I wouldn't pay him a cent. If you noticed the crack and you know you didn't do anything, then definitely don't pay. If you tell him you're going to take him to court he'll probably back off to be honest. All IMO
  5. Whilst these databases can be helpful, they require on-going maintenance as many links end up leading to nowhere. What you also need to realise is that this link directs to a third-party website where our moderators can't edit anything... These days you can quite easily Google a DIY for most things that you could want to do.

Any more photos of this? Such an awesome car - just read through the whole thread Is the lip a genuine Strassentech?
  7. Complete and utter disregard for human life.
  8. It's a balancing act! My spending budget is blown til 2020! Hahah Forced induction 540... Mmm - That'll be a treat! Agree with the "Mrs car needs expensive repairs" - pure genius.
  9. That's a shame! Seems like there have been a fair few Bimmersport member orders from Schmiedmann over the past month or so, generally seem to have positive write-ups. Let us know how their post-sale service goes. I'm half anticipating these shift boots to be utter crap based on things I've read where it's taken a day and an age to arrive and then hasn't even fit. Note to self: Research before getting trigger happy with online shopping! On a lighter note, my shift knob from Storm Motorwerks arrived today, well packaged, in a smart looking, branded box with foam cutouts to support the components inside. With the prices they charge you'd expect so but overall I'm very happy with them and would recommend to all!

  11. Thanks Julian Yup this is just the knob but the additional 400g odd transforms the shift feel. I've got the BMW performance shift lever on its way too which will shorten the throws a bit.
  12. My Storm Motorwerks v1 shift knob arrived today! I'll do a proper write-up when I have more time but the extra weight has really smoothed out the shifts; really happy with it!
  13. Pretty minor update but you may have seen I was seeing if anyone wanted M sticker replacements in the FS section. Long story short, I found them MUCH cheaper overseas that I was being quoted here! So the 10 year old badge got a refresher.
  14. Came off my E46 318Ti - Still on the OEM wheels as far as I can tell. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...amp;permanent=0 $100 no reserve Continentals off an 08 ML500 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=617628 Selling individually or could work something out for the lot Thanks
  15. E39 parking brakes do need adjustment every so often. Whenever it was in for work at Team McMillan they seemed to do it at no extra cost, so I assume its an easy fix.
  16. I've been told by a suspension store in Auckland that the Weitec equivalent of the KWV2 is the exact same product, just a different name.
  17. All looks great! Always a joy to have a whole lot of stuff show up to go in the car. Boots look really good...
  18. Good to hear more positives about topgaiters. I think it was Darin that also had good experiences with them.
  19. The snake or his brother's lizard? The snake is now dead; systemic infection. :[

    Wanting to buy !

I want in. I'm still waiting for a return on the $5k I sent to Nigeria; 400% return in 3 weeks they say!
  21. They realise we're Kiwi and shaft us on it
  22. I've come back to this thread a few times now but haven't posted my thoughts until now. Sure there is a minority of the colloquial 'gangstaz' that drive like this but am I the only one that thinks that the seats in OP are like that for ease of cleaning. Looks like the rear left footwell has been vacuumed, he probably reclined them like that to get years of takeaway crumbs out of the seat creases! My thoughts at least ... The 'gangsta' seating is a more discussion-inspiring path though!
  23. Asia .. Typically very efficient! I've also had good experiences with products out of the UK.
