We're a nice bunch of speculators

Looks like a big Prius

An unshielded pod filter would work wonders under that hood. ^
-
Would look right at home in a Mad Max scene...
-
Coming together nicely indeed.
-
Of course... I'm just speculating. Pretty much what most people do on this forum. I can see where you're coming from on the matter, but like anything some people will play it by the book, others wont. Such is life.

Yeah.... I would do what Brent suggested. Sounds like the powersteering pump or the a/c clutch sticking, running the pump.. bad if its got no gas! Try run it again and turn the wheel side to side. See if the sound changes

Nice wagon but big money? Thoughts on 330i
Michael. replied to Breaker's topic in TradeMe discussions
Kinda relative I think. Where else do you find a mint low kms 330i, let a lone a desirable Touring. Then again it is automatic and it is an earlier 2001 model so it's possibly getting a touch steep. -
Those presenters in 'Top Gear' USA, are so cringe worthy.... they're just impossible to watch. It's just even worse that they run a show called Top Gear. Really shows where the BBC executives heads are. America has a lot of good presenters, but it seems certain they didn't go above and beyond to find them for that show.

So based on that, you would say a Land Rover S3 V8 has less soul than that of a Ferrari 458 for instance, because the latter car has a better, sportier connection with the road?
-
I think the soul of the car is derived from the relationship a driver has between that specific car... If it gives them good feedback and the right vibes, through all kinds of experiences over many years then surely that car has some kind of inherent soul for that one driver, regardless if its a Jaguar E Type or a Civic Type R.

Is the gearbox quite soggy of the line? I think it's partly due to that full hydrualic box, quite an old style torque converter generating too much slip. So if its dry and you floor it - no spin? What rear tyres are you running?
-
Hardly surprising... You would assume any reputable TM store would be paying taxes on any profits, granted it's probably their main business. There is a wave of pseudo stores though, selling in bulk but not actually titled as a TM store... if they havent bothered with such I'm sure they don't bother keeping their books tidy either, no doubt those would be the ones the IRD wishes to hunt.

The M113 seems like a lesser motor in some ways, more cost saving measures, but better suited for low end torque like you say. It seems to have a lesser following than the M119, given the vibe on the internet. To be honest I think the M119 makes a sh*t load of torque from the get go, nearly 400nm at 1500pm, going on to a peak of 479nm... it sure means buisness! My smaller 4.0L Soarer engine has always been a bit lacking in low down torque, probably the main reason people supercharge them a lot. Only making 300nm at 1500rpm, on to a peak of 355nm at 4400rpm, so a similar torque curve to the M119, but down the best part of 100nm!

Synthetic Spray Lube is what I used for such areas. CRC make a good one. Lithium grease isn't so good for rubber areas due to its petroleum content.
-
Indeed. I found it to be quite a fine motor. Great power delivery and an aswesome sound. Definitely passes the seat-of-the-pants test. (322 hp/240 kW) at 5700 rpm and 354 ft·lbf (479 N·m) at 3900 rpm. Lovely.

Any examples of this innovation?

Yeah, as entertaining as Guy is.. he is near impossible to understand for the most part.

BMW 530i Series 5 1994 V8 + 6 Speed Manual ( RARE AS ! )
Michael. replied to kiwi328i's topic in TradeMe discussions
No point in even trying to explain to some lame duck the issues of his advert. Let fools be fools. -
I think any presenter with some credibility would be an utter fool to try fill the void left by Clarkson, May and Hammond. The show will be bound to fail at taking off where it's been left, leaving the replacement presenters with a long lasting stigma.

From what I've seen BMW was much better in the late 90s. Still niggly issues. But between both of them they did have issues. I guess a late 90s LS400 is the pick of the bunch. Next to no faults (Other than being a bit boring)

Keep in Mind that is just the reserve, prob sell for 10k or so

I think these are cheap for the right people. Need to have the experience, tools and skill base to sort these out economically.
