  1. Definitely the original M double spokes
  2. I sold E90's brand new and was a service advisor for BMW, so I have a fair bit of experience with these.... 325i's are slow and use just as much fuel as a 330i, 330i's are great in my opinion - 335i is even better but can cost more to run/maintain/buy. You won't find a manual E90 330i easily so I'd say you're gonna have to settle for an auto. Buy an M Sport to begin with, it won't be worth the cost to fit M sport kit and suspension - plus you wont have the sport seats. All of this would set you back at least 5-6k. Definitely get a warranty, the E90 is pretty reliable, however some of the 6 cylinder engines have had issues with hydraulic lifters and running camshafts - no rhyme or reason either as alot of the ones that had trouble were NZ New cars with full service history... The auto's again are pretty reliable, but can develop oil leaks from the plastic oil pan which warps over time due to heat - this should be covered by a good mechanical insurance policy. Good luck!
  3. Selling my 530d if anyone is after one. Awesome car, well looked after and has had swirl flaps deleted. Awesome power and economy! Will take $19k for a BS member. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=765730655
  4. 760LI's are seriously cool... Nice spec over and above both E65 V8's I've had. So smooth and powerful!! not sure I'd like to pay the fuel bills though. I'd pay the money if the right one came along.
  5. Yeah, I only paid $750 for the car and the auto is fine. I'd pay $1200 if someone else was going to do the conversion!!
  6. After a CHEAP E36 manual conversion kit to suit 318is Sedan. All the kits on trade me seem very expensive considering these cars are now worth next to nothing. Cheers
  7. BMW Group NZ have not released the recall notice to dealers yet, as they haven't got the complete list of vehicles affected. As soon as this is released, the dealers will be notified, along with owners. As you can imagine, this isn't a 5 minute job.
  8. I've just ordered the kit from PMW in the UK to remove the swirl flaps from my E60 530d. The cost was just £49.84, so a cheap alternative to a cylinder head, turbo and possibly more. I'll do a how to guide when they arrive for anyone that is interested in doing it also, but from my experience it is well worth doing for peace of mind!
  9. Nice, I love E65's... They cop a lot of flack but I've had two now, both NZ New, an 02 745i and an 06 750i. Both amazing cars... and actually I preferred the 745i to drive as mine had Dynamic Drive and every option. Underrated car in my opinion, and an awesome long distance cruiser.. I even like the styling!
  10. Not a BMW, but selling this Subaru Legacy B4 manual. Just in case someone wants something 4WD or something.. $4k for BS member. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=736979746

    Benz E63 AMG

I'm sorry, but how is an E60 M5 detatched??? Its a far better steering and braking (not to mention power) car than an E39 M5 by a country mile!! I've done a fair bit of driving on back roads and at Hampton Downs in them.. SMG starts to make sense..
  12. Don't suppose you'd want an X5 by any chance?
  13. Hi all, after right side smiley headlight for E30 facelift. let me know what you have. Cheers
  14. Having owned an 02 745i and 06 750i, I am fairly aware of the ins and outs.. The early I-Drive is a bit painful but once you get all your settings sorted and get the hang of it its not as bad as people make it out to be. Transmissions are notorious to sh*t themselves, so get a mechanical insurance policy! Waterpumps are common at that mileage, and the coolant pipe that runs in the valley leaks around then also which is an engine out and heads off job.- again get a MBI policy. Some of the higher mileage ones are beginning to need valve stem seal replacement. Suspension eg bushes and ball joints wear as they would with a big heavy car. Control unit failures are not uncommon, most of which will be due to lack of software updates and old technology. The build quality is generally good, and NZ New cars seem to be much better after this amount of years. All in all, I love the E65, and i'd buy another one if the right car came along. But again I wouldn't touch one without a breakdown insurance/warranty.

  17. E46 M3's are awesome but these V8's are just next level. Plus a more modern useable car. I'd love an M3 sedan personally. Nice buying!

  20. Hi All, just upgraded the wife's car so moving this on. 1999 318i NZ New, 1900cc M43 engine, automatic, silver with black cloth. Tidy condition for age and mileage with a few dents and chips here and there but nothing bad. Has done 264,000kms ish. Good BMW service history, is due for a service now and the rear brake discs could do with a skim. New front brakes New expansion tank, rear coolant fitting on head, new top radiator hose. New coolant and brake fluid. Has minor oil leaks which don't ever leak onto the ground but they are apparent when you look under the car with the undertray off. No coolant leaks or overheating issues whatsoever. Drives well and is nice and economical. $2,500 for bimmersporters. no less. Phone me on 027 465 8454 if you'd like to know more. PLEASE NOTE, SAMPLE PIC... PICS TO COME THIS WEEKEND AFTER A WASH!!
