  1. The issue will most likely be in the mechatronics. many trans overhaul shops will do the hardware but not touch the mechatronics, i'd either replace the trans or make sure whoever repairs it does it properly. It sounds like you've had some common E46 issues, i wouldn't be discouraged.. once you sort all the niggles it will be a good car in the most part.
  2. that isnt a BMW... its a Nissan March
  3. 4.5 weeks is a long time overdue! mate if you're that bad at remembering to pay people maybe you should have APs set up! I'm not saying they should have turned up without notice but you must admit its pretty slack on your behalf...

It makes me laugh how people have come to expect discount off retail pricing when buying new cars... You dont go into the supermarket and try to bargain!

  7. By the way, If i dont sell it I'll be passing it onto the Mrs for a daily so i'm not fussed if it sells therfore I'm not interested in ridiculous offers.
  8. Car's done 217km but seriously you wouldn't know it!
  9. Long story short, I've had an offer I cant refuse so i would like to cash up if possible hence the sale. Awesome car, every service stamped by Coombes Johnston BMW Hamilton since new. This car is an NZ New fully specced 550i Touring Motorsport and is unbelieveable value for money! Offers over $25k for BS members welcome. I'll be listing on TradeMe for around 30k at the end of the week.
  10. Thats a whole other discussion
  11. I was in a dealer meeting last week and to be honest, its all about volume, BMW needs to increase its sales volume to keep competitive in the marketplace, therefore it needs to offer cheaper easier to reach vehicles for more people.
  12. I have for sale one E39 Sedan facelift owners handbook with leather wallet and also one E39 Touring owners handbook with leather wallet. Both as new. $60 for Sedan $50for Touring Handbooks are about $70 alone from dealers and the wallets are around $35. 027 4658454 or PM me.
  13. Get them checked on a beam setter, only way to tell if they are correct.
  14. Yours is a manual, cant really compare. its fairly common for E53's to need new transmissions these days.. and 2.5k for front brakes doesnt sound right... Sounds too steep to me. Where are the prices from?
  15. good luck getting a 2nd hand one, and a new one is about $400!
  16. i'm a bit confused as to what it ACTUALLY is?
  17. Around 13 l/100km round town and 9 l/100km country, thats driving gently, it gets much worse when you start using the throttle
  18. holding off on the family bit as long as possible!, yes it does go quite fast... need to get a decent radar detector again i think.
  19. took a couple of pictures yesterday, i think it needs some tints and thats about it.
  20. agree with kerry on the no-go's, parts of dinsdale are good, pukete, hillcrest are good.
  21. Hi and welcome, 5k seems a good price to replace the transmission. new ones from BMW are well priced but still not under 7k. dont go cheap on brake discs, they need decent brakes!
