-
appreciate the offer its just that im on the shore and bang in the middle of bussiness exams will get it scanned and gearbox adaptations reset while im there as well as door handle fixed, new front seats, respray front bumper and new alternator(bearings shot)phew heaps to do so little time haha will post pics when its all done tho and yes this time ill resize them haha cheers

injector is sweet, icv is buggered but runs without it connected, used to run smoothly without it connected found a leak today at the icv and fixed it and the car idled smooth even after a few revs with out the icv connected went for a drive and the missfire was back after 5mins have tried other plug leads etc hard to imagine what could block the fuel rail? this missfire is only at idle, when you plant it it goes like it should but if you drive at low rpms or from pull away it will often jerk cheers

93 325i vanos m50 goes well most of the time but sometimes wheni plant the foot it feels like absolutely no vanos is there, a definite lack of power have done some searching around my vanos itself isnt noisy so shouldnt be broken but may be worn enough not to initiate vanos? the solenoid that operates on 12v could be faulty and would lead to the same symtoms(how do i check the solenoid?) could perhaps be a bad coil?how to check? car doesnt miss and idles sweet cheers
-
would be a bit hard to post a vid but i can answer some of those questions its a constant miss wont idle unless idle screw is set higher or you keep your foot on the gas spark is good to all cylinders , have checked coil 2 and when i remove the 6th plug lead there is a change in idle for the worse and removing the 5th or any other leads the engine then dies so leads me to believe there is spark and fuel in all cylinders but 6th cylinder isnt causing it to die yea dont know what else it could be...ecu? there is a timing clip on the 6th cylinder plug lead could this be faulty ?
-
after wiggling a few grounds near the battery the idle changes when you pull off 6th plug lead? and after putting it back on if u remove the 5th plug lead it just dies? shouldnt it die if you remove the 6th then aswell? faulty lead? bad earth somewhere? oh and no air leaks no vacuum leaks all fine changed tps to one that had a reading on it where the gurus at?haha
-
also no change in missing idle when you remove 6th plug lead?? bad lead?
-
car runs without the o2 sensor connected??faulty or broken o2 sensor? checking for leaks now and no reading from tps and car runs without that connected 2
-
have checked spark to all cylinders, fuel pump and rail is getting fuel airflow meter is good there was no power getting to the sixth cylinders injector so fixed that and no joy replaced 6 cylinders injector and no joy its a 320i and wont idle, if you release the pedal it just dies suggestions please

will give that a shot and let you know if it worked i should start a thread for people with e36 parts laying around want to donate to me to fix mine up haha kinda like a bimmersport car haha ill start with door cards(black) leather coupe front seats good alternator and maybe an mtech front bumper hahaha
-
got an e36 coupe 325i 93 heres the wierd issue driving around and at random times the gauges all go off(revs drop back to zero etc) then a few seconds later it all lights back up again as if i just started the car anyone have this before or has an idea of what i may be so i can start the troubleshooting haha cheers

found the problem!!! alternator bearings are bad and worn causing the vibration:) pump was either on its way out or fluid was crap but never the less its better now and all i need is a good alternator:) cheers for the input
-
ok so if anybody else comes accross this problem its the engine mounts well at least one of them apparently the heat causes them to fail im sending the coupe in either wednesday or thursday and will post the results:) hopefully it sorts it out and i can move on to the next fix....the door handle hahha cheers
-
will take it to a friend on monday then il know for sure...pump or rack... thanks for the help will keep posting until the problem is solved cheers
-
before i get the rack checked which i might add has no leaks not even from the bootsare there rebuild kits for the pump? i see a few online but how about around auckland? haha the kit replaces the bearings and seals in the pump and are (by the looks of it) under 50 bux for the kit maybe rebuild and rule out the pump as the culprit cheers
-
well after putting another second hand one in there was very little vibration at firstdecided to take it for a drive and the vibration slowly came back along with heavier steering think i need to get a brand new pump now and thats $$$ does anyone know how much they are or have a contact i could maybe use to get one cheaper??
-
got new pump in and fresh fluid worked a treat no vibration problem solved
-
ok so i put a new straight pipe on it bled it and its still there sooootook pump off and going to get another second hand one hopefully this time its in better nick haha the rack doesnt leak out of the boots and the boots arnt filled with fluid so im guessing the valves are still all good the original pump gave an intermitant vibration hence i decided to change it before it damaged the rack now the second hand one vibrates more so hopefully the second second hand one will be a charm hahaha
-
double checked the install of the new pump and did everything correctly took the serpentine belt off and ran the car for 5 secs when it was cold and there was no vibration so it hasto be something to do with the power steering since i changed it had another look at the pipes and the large pipe that goes to the reservoir has 2 bends in it and could be starving the pump causing vibration? cheers
-
will jack it up today and check that out cheers mate but if its not that what could be the issue?
-
ok so i knew the pump was stuffed..previous owner didnt notice screeching noise got a second hand pump..defintily in better shape than the one i took out and doesnt make any noise on rotation unlike the broken one do i put the new pump on and took out the old fluid by draining it and turning the wheel lock to lock several times added fluid and fired her up turned the wheels etc and added fluid problem is this: i had an intermitant vibration through the steering wheel at stand still with the old pump with the new pump, i have a constant vibration through steering wheel until around 1200rpm and it goes away steering is better than before:angry: could the vibration be from air still in the system? wont be engine mounts because there was no vibration ony now since the pump change vanos is not rattling and idle is fine but engine seems slightly rougher?? any help would be appreciated, thanx in advance

ive got the bladdy jatco jerk all id o is put it in snow for the first 10mins of driving and then back into econo mode drives fine if i do that car is at 194000 kms approx and in regards to a previous post, i know th zf transmition is lifetime fluid etc and doesnt give many issues but considering the jatco is a totally different box can i change the fluid without causing it to fail soon after?and prolong the life left in it? im not up for a manual conversion again and would like to stay out from underneath the car (seems like im constantly fixing something hhah) thanx in advance
-
vibration in the steering at idle, it intermitent fluid does leak very little from a connecting hose to the back of the rack but not from the boots or anything like that steering has also gotten heavier regardless of fluid level...when i got the car the guy had nearly no fluid in the pump and it was whinning, added fluid and it went away but had a slight vibration in steering. i guess the lack of fluid and maintenance has caused its early demise
