Sold, or gone at least.

They are different, sill is deeper. Hard to tell from the photo, but mine look deeper and seem to wrap further under.

Yes, it did have that plate. There will be photos on here somewhere.

I thought there were 4. Sam (?) from here had a silver one? Think one of the guards had been replaced with steel? Maybe a white one in Dunedin and supposedly 2 others?

Doug DeMuro on M Cars getting rarer and more expensive
Palazzo replied to Gabe79's topic in General Discussion
It's strange, when he criticised BMWs a few weeks back, all he wrote was uninformed click bait. -
They do and you can, or try and find them on eBay Aus and pay 1/3 of the price they charge.
-
And if it was a genuine car, I'd be tempted. I've always liked these and AMGs in general.
-
I wasn't worried, just thought you might have missed the earlier post. I have a 325iQW which can't be corrected without too much effort, so I'm aware of their general ineptitude!

That's what I understood too.

I was referring to this.

He missed the N46. Nice write up on an M5 flip in there though. https://www.google.co.nz/amp/thegarage.jalopnik.com/bmw-engines-are-gigantic-pieces-of-sh*t-1784684330/amp

Wildcard: Ford Motorcraft Mercon SP. Yep, it's for the Ford ZF 6HP26 (called Ford 6R80)... In the US it's inexpensive, meets the right specs. Dunno if it's full synthetic. Wonder if I should call a Ford Dealer parts department (though one recalls why one does not own a Ford!). Hyundai also runs this trans. Hmm. As far as I know Ford used the ZF box in Falcons and rear drive Territory's, 6R80 in others, try a Ford dealer. In my experience you'll have to get them to answer the phone first. Helpful tip, don't try Capital city Ford in Porirua.

An E30 cab, registered as a Toyota Echo.

No, they got a clunkier GM six speed, the Falcon got the ZF.

Of course it's extreme. But I think a 2-300% mark up on the retail price of an item overseas is extreme too and that's commonplace.
-
So you'd be comfortable with a key at say, $7,500+ GST?

I think your weights are a bit off Allan, I'm sure the manual said our e30 was 1190? And an EA Falcon around 1500, I think a Commodore was lighter though. Here's an interesting link, shows cars as they actually perform, E34 gets 4 stars, 850 gets 3, EA gets 2. https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/baby-used-cars-fare-poorly-in-safety-ratings-20623

You're comparing a compact hatch with a 5 series?
-
Merc. All day. 8 series is interesting looking, but motor is dull and barely better than the BMW V8.
-
If you are 6'6, nobody will be sitting behind you and I would think you'd find it tight for yourself. Try a Mazda SP25 if room is a criteria. The 1 series are nice to drive, but not if you don't fit.

A more apt name might be Little Odessa.
