  1. $216 plus shipping brand new or $171 plus for a second hand one?? Good score Andy.
  2. Haven't tried. Try these guys. http://www.gopher.co.nz/east-tamaki/car-trimming-and-upholstery/autodec-car-carpets I met the owner years ago and he was a good guy, said they made everything.
  3. Cut and sand? So you were buying car bits at Mitre 10.
  4. I was in a mates Bentley Continental convertible today for a drive. That was fun. Has 4 seats too. No manual, but 640hp.
  5. It does, but I think you're out as not being "in trade" above.
  6. That's no longer strictly true. I can't remember the inticacies, but some goods are now covered by CGA for auction also. I think it covers those "in trade", but not sure how much further it extends. Check the Turners website, they now mention it, or of course consumer affairs/ministry of something.
  7. I have Ze912s, they are as quiet as anything.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-766106965.htm Belongs to a friend and is mint.
  9. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-758866152.htm $15k cheaper.
  10. Black? Belongs to a client and is a 525i. I was embarrassed for him.
  11. My manual 328i is about 10-12% more economical than my old Legacy RS.
  12. I'll grant you that side on, the CSi one is better than standard, in the first shot it looked too bulbous, like a mid 90s Ford Probe. For pure originality though, that last one is gold. I'd recommend that as nobody else will have one.
  13. I like none. If you had to have one, CSi is least offensive. Silver looks like it doesn't fit and the other two look like several people designed them.
  14. Surely the biggest difference you'll find will be the speed with which the Wof man denies you a wof?
  15. Yeah, I thought you'd kept that too long as I wrote it. As I said, if you like it, who cares?
  16. That's actually Ron's point, I think. Any time spent on the open road will show you plenty of examples of people who are negligent, or just plain incompetent behind the wheel. You've all seen them, surprised by corners, surprised by other vehicles, braking on a straight for no reason. Driving at 75km/h, then 120, then 85. Driving is an activity that actually requires some attention to what you're doing. Having agreed with that bit, we have a FWD car that is completely at home on the open road and I don't like the Volvo! But I don't have to drive it, so if Clinton is happy, go for it. We all know you'll sell it in 3 months anyway.
  17. Motions Rd behind the zoo. I'll do a trial run.
  18. Not really a fair comparison though is it?My turbo has practically your peak torque at 1200rpm. Then again, maybe that's not fair either.
  19. The car shifts better than the 6 month old XR6 Falcon rental with under 20,000kms on the clock that I had driven for 2 weeks while the work was getting done. 18 months later it's still shifting beautifully. Which is odd, given that the Falcon has a more modern and updated version of your trans.
  20. http://www.protectainsurance.co.nz/news-and-events/caffeine-and-classics.aspx Love Google.
  21. Smales Farm, car park closest to motorway.
  22. Have you got the brake master cylinder?
  23. Yes, now they use chains. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/23p5j5wzPtYflS7kFvmKVZf/bmw-deny-engine-failures-are-due-to-manufacturing-fault
  24. Get a scrap metal place to pick up the shell, one on Church St,forgotten the name.
