First battery was old, second one wasn't. Same sparky that said battery was dead couldn't identify any drain. I know I'm chasing rainbows over the net, but I'm sure it has to be something simple and most likely something related to the aerial, too much coincidence otherwise. Cheers.

My dad has my old M325i, about 18 months ago, it drained the battery and killed it. New battery installed, started going south also, when I was there (it's in Wellington) in January, it would struggle to start the day after being driven, unless it had been for a long drive, in which case it would last 2 days. Now that has been pronounced dead after 15 months. It has never had an issue with this in the previous 9 years we owned it and only two things have changed since he's had it. Rust in roof was repaired and check control panel/lights were disconnected. A new electric aerial was fitted. This coincides with the start of the drain, but a sparky yesterday declared no drain. When the new battery was installed a continuous ticking sound was heard, which dad thought was the cd stacker, but I'm thinking the aerial? There is a slim grey box under the parcel shelf with a cable held in by a knurled steel knob, aerial connection and booster?? When this was undone, the ticking stopped. Am I on the right track, or does someone have another bright idea? Cheers.

Watch the clearance on the brakes.

Unless you commonly exit the motorway by performing a 180 degree handbrake turn into oncoming traffic or vaulting a 1m high concrete barrier, this on ramp would be near impossible to join the wrong way.

Where is easy. The city bound on ramp at Waterview. Two lanes, was going around a van and once clear of it found a silver Rav4 coming straight at me. Hit brakes/horn/flashed lights, couldn't stop, she went on the grass around me. 30-40m further on was armco where she swerved and we would have just hit. How? Who knows? Even the 7 year old said, "How did she even get there?" If you see a silver Rav4 driven by a blond woman in her 50s, rego starting with BDS, I suggest you give her a wide berth. Or a smack between the eyes.

Glenn's advice to me with a similar problem was to put it in gear and turn it over briefly on the starter motor. Obviously make sure the path in front is clear. Assuming the clutch is stuck and not another problem.

Clearly tongue in cheek is not in your repertoire. Have a lovely day.

Hmmm, undriveable and unreliable, what a wonderful combo. Might be fun for a laugh.

On TM, or it was recently.

Does the sale include the cowl panel?

From memory, you've only had it a few months? So roughly what you paid for it then?

Sure it wasn't this? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-767640463.htm This used to have a full set of wheels, wonder what they ran over to damage them?

An Aston Martin Lagonda. Had no idea there was one in NZ, only 645 built.
