House keeping.

I used Team once for a payout. Was free, Jerry wanted $30 if I remember right..

Nice, 2.2's quite a nice engine. Pipe B goes to heater valve on E46 then on to heater core and returns to reservoir. Pipe A goes straight to reservoir.

Good good, keep us updated. Always keen to hear how others go about this sortta thing.

Should have fitted those driveshaft loops....
-
See that ruddy great hole in front of it? I'd start with filling that in...

We had an E46 4 door with non fold down rear seats and solid panel in the back and no sunroof. By far the stiffest of the BMs we've had. Noticeably stiffer than the fold down seated, sunroofed 330 we have at the moment. I know what you mean with regards the E36 coupe. Wonder if a solid panel behind the seats would help much. Wouldn't help the floppy front end though... But hey, least it's not an E39 touring.

No it's not.

It's unclear as to how the costs are accounted for. I think flat fee+hourly for the cert guy is more or less the go. But the fees are going up. Biggest issue is that the Govt gives no f**k for you or your car mods. If they had it their way you'd be able to do approx diddly squat to it. Therefore, they give little or no funding for the cert process. LVVTA is on it's own with a 'f**k you if you don't like it' from the govt cause, after winning the media war, they know you're public enemy number one. ra ra ra...

It wont. The cert for ya basic adjustable suspension will be about $500+expenses (about the same cost as my E30). Your cost for a scratchbuilt will be more like $2000+expenses. Engine swaps will be somewhere in between.

Cert prices are about to go through the roof so look for more uncerted shite on the roads too....

Couple of things though, seems the 5 speed was available on E34 (M60) 530 and E39 (M62) 535. The E34 box wont have a mount for the M62 crank sensor that reads from the flywheel. Also a pretty tricky thing to get right on the box. Can drive ya up the wall trying to line it up as it goes together.

The V8 version of the ZF S5D only uses a different front half casing to the 6cyl. Rest is the same. Think it's part no 23111222773. Could be a cheapish way into a manual. Would be interested myself.

Having trouble sourcing that genuine lightweight e-type? Never fear.. http://newsroom.jaguarlandrover.com/...release_140514 Jaguar is to build six brand new 'Lightweight' E-types - the 'missing' six Lightweights that were never built from the intended 18-car series Jaguar's first ever 're-creation' project, the all-aluminium cars will be assigned the six remaining chassis numbers which were originally allocated in 1963 All six vehicles will be built as perfect reproductions and to the exact specifications of the original 12 cars first produced in 1963 The first new Lightweight E-type will make its public debut later this summer. Further information will be released at that point 14 May 2014 - Jaguar is to build six perfect reproductions of the original, race-bred Lightweight E-type that was created in 1963. The new cars are the 'missing' six vehicles from Jaguar's Lightweight E-type project, which originally started in February 1963 with the objective of building 18 'Special GT E-type Cars'. Only 12 of the aluminium bodied Lightweight E-types were eventually built, the last in 1964, the remaining six designated chassis numbers having lain dormant, until now. The new cars will be hand-built in-house by Jaguar's finest craftsmen. Each car will be constructed to the exact specifications of their original 1960s forebears - including the 3.8-litre straight-six engine. The Lightweight carried approximately 114kg (250lb) less weight than a standard E-type, thanks to its all-aluminium body and engine block, a lack of interior trim and exterior chrome work and a host of further weight-saving features including lightweight, hand-operated side windows. Jaguar expects a high demand for the six Lightweight E-types. Established Jaguar collectors, especially those with historic race car interests, will be prioritised amongst those potential customers who express interest. Orsum.
