it does sound a bit pricey. I've been looking for a lsd for a while, and i can tell you that if you find one, even old and worn, it will cost you that much. chances of finding one that's broken but has the part that you need are very slim. alternatively you can look into importing aftermarket unit such as qualife or OBX... never the less... good luck. -

Hi. Can you please elaborate on the 2.7 engine. Is it 2.7 stroker (m20b25 head with m20b27 bottom end) ? or is it just m20b27 engine (low reeving one from stock 525e)? if it is a stroker, what pistons does it use ? what compression, etc ? are any detail available ? any history available for it ? k's traveled, etc ? from auto or manual tranny car ?

well, i might be keen, but with those k's, and age, no gearbox, no loom or ecu the price has to be dropped, and then it's subject to inspection. was cold compression tested ? is it still in the car ? where's the engine ?

well, i think we should organize a group buy. we can order for other cars too (not only BMW). yes, GST will be a pain, but there's no way around it. I'mkeen to order any time really, however it would be best to organize several keen ppl to get shipping and possibly unit price down. Aswell we might go for ground (or sea?) freight, but wait time is like 8 weeks.... Where can you get them locally for NZ$1100 a set ? I called few places and they quoted me if memory serves me right NZ$365+GST per corner.

neverpulled one apart either, however aparently you need to aligh the gears perfectly,and aparently some special equipment is required for that, otherwise the diff will die quickly.

gus, i want a ride as got bilsteins, anybody keen for a group buy ? bilstein sports are US$385 for set, shipping is US$125, that's few hundys less than NZ$1100, mind you if we get like 3 or 4 sets shipping will be considerably lower, and possibly we'll get cheape price,if we get fewsets. I'm keen for one definitely. as for springs, brand doesnt matter, as long as you get the similar height, similar spring rate IMHO...

Hey guys. I know it's a long shot, but I'm looking to borrow engine crank. I need a proper crane 1 tonne or better, not a chain block (nowhere to attach it in my garage). I need it to pull out my m20b25 with gearbox.... I kno w hirepool hires them for about $50 per 4 hours or $80 a day, but surly somebody around here does have one he could lent me for ideally two weeks or something like that for $50 or something ? Or even for one day so I can pull it out and another day so i can put it back in....

I dont see how this would work. By controlling IAT output you could have some ability to controll mixture, but not timing. As you enlean the mixture, it burns faster, so that kinda gives you effect of more timing. However enleaning mixture at WOT creates massive exhaust gas temps which will melt something eventually. stated hp gains are BS, because they dont tell you on what engine it was achieved and what was original tune. I agree if original tune was running pig rich then leaning it out to optimum will create 30 hp. Dont expect any gains on engine which is already tuned at optimum. As with all those *magic* go-fast bits I'd say it's gonna do squat, unless proven otherwise by dyno graphs. And for that particular deviece I would like to see EGT and AFR graph along the duyo chart - before and after.
