Are we going to draw the line at standard Bimmer's though ?I dont know if we should be allowing any 'hybrids' I wouldnt mind seeing if I can hit the 155mph limit on mine...Ive done 135 but ran out of road rather quickly at that point :drugs: pffft, well now boats either then Martyyn It should be open to bimmersport members driving a car reg'd as a BMW (regardless of engine or mods). I've had the E30 off the clock (+140mph), they aren't very stable at that speed I might add!! Definitely not something to try in a uncontrolled environment!!
-
219rwkw, rolling road I presume (I think they read lower than the Dynapak dynos)218rwkw for me Bring on the mods!!! I won't be able to make the first intermarque sprint (Rally commitments) I'll be ready & rearing to go for the May one though!!

I propose there be a "register" formed that lists peoples accomplishments. ie. List top 10 (proven): 1/4 mile times Horsepower Best Lap times (at Manfield, Taupo & Pukekohe??) Top Speed (offical speed trial, not a$$-clowns down the motorway!!) etc... What do ya think??

its a nz new car 1986 havn't looked at diff yet i think about 3.9ratio . do you need one for the subframe assembly you got off me cause i do have a some 525/528 diffs availible and a e23 735i diff I need a LSD for a diff to go into the subframe I got off you.The 3 medium case diffs I have will fit, but non are a LSD!!! I'd prefer a big case 210 LSD (which you have a couple of), do you have one you want to sell?
-
Me too. And I presume "Hartge" has one also. Take your pic!!
-
No the ETK isn't that specific. Depending on how filtered you make your search (just models eg. E34 525i's or years eg E34 525i 1989) it will show you all the various parts available for that model of that year!
-
or proper sized tyres!! 225/45's Tim, fill the guards nicely, thats the business!! Nice Muff BTW!!

Kiwi fruit's are fury. He's going to make a fur coat out of Kiwi fruit skins. WTF would you make a fur coat out of kiwi fruit skins, you wouldn't = funny! I like this one:

A presume it is a small case diff Brent!?!?! Considering it's a jap. model!! Dibs if it's a medium case!!! price $$$ ?
-
Bastard LSD pimp!!!Care to send one my way?? I Don't care about the ratio!!!
-
That car in parts alone is worth more than $10k So!!We're not trying to sell it!!! It's meet the reserve @$5k and the bid interval is $50, so why bid $1000 over the previous!!! :banghead:
-
Whats up with that Kent01 guy bidding so high!! Spoiling the fun for everyone but the seller, must reeeealllly want it maybe!!
-
as in a 318iS???According to the ETK they have a Type 168 (small case) diff (so do E36 320's)! 1N STYL: According to the ETK you should have a 3.07 or 3.46 or 3.91. So once you find out which one it is, you can look for a higher one. There should be a tag on the bolted to the rear cover of the diff with the ratio on it.
-
Still on the cards Andrew. But if a large case LSD came up I'd take it as it would bolt in!! RE: Quaife installation, it would cost no more than a recon of your stock diff (that would be replacing the bearings etc...), you could prolly DIY it if you were to reuse your old bearings (not really sensable though). 1N STYL: You need to find out what ratio you have, then fine a lower (numerically higher) ratio diff from another E36 to bolt in!!
-
There are 3 types of diff. Type 168 Small Type 188 Medium Type 210 Large I presume the 168,188,210 refers to the crown wheel diameter (mm's). E30's came with 168's (318/320/323) & 188's (323/325/M3) E28's came with 188's (M5's & some M535's had a 210) E34's came with 188's (518-535's) & 210's (535/540/M5) E36's came with 168's (318's), 188's (most 6cyl's & 3.0l M3's) & 210's (3.2l M3's) All the ratio's & carriers of each size are interchangable. Just like Lego. If anyone has a medium(188) or large(210 preferred) LSD please let me know!!!! I NEEEEEED one!!!
-
Yes!!Even if you ring the wreaker and ask for ANY BMW LSD you get the same answer, NO!!
-
Whats the price???That will dictate the keen-ness!!
-
E30 Yes (you can even bolt in a large case from a E23) & E36 I believe so!
-
E28/30/34/36 can all come with a type 188 diff. (of course there are smaller 168 & larger 210 diffs for some of them also). The part No. QDF2N2 for the type 188 diff (medium case) & yes the crown wheel can be removed from the carrier. Last time I enquired they were $1660 from Palmside (+GST +Installation) And of course I need one!!!

Agreed. I always have my headlights on when heading up the country!! Besides are they going to make every volvo disconnect the headlights from the key!!!! I'd be glad to see those annoying rice-boy neons & LED's gone though!!!

so to translate that you are after: 1-Left Trailing Arm 1-left rack-end (left & right are the same and are 1 complete (rack-end, tie rod & tie rod end) unit from BMW) 2-E30 M3 offset control arm bushes (are better than E30 ones, add more caster & are solid rubber) Did you have whoopsie with a kerb on the left by any chance??
-
I had the same problem. Was mentally preparing to replace the resistors etc... But then, fanged out of the Mobil near the Napier turn-off, rather sideways, and wal-lah, fixed!! Works on all 4 settings now!! FYI, it was the south exit and I was heading north if you wanted to give it a go.
-
I have rear springs & shocks (both 1 month old) if you are keen. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....?showtopic=2868 They are easy to put in, even if you are not mechanically minded!!

Voted No. Get one of the photoshop guys to play with the colours a bit, looks a little washy (maybe darken the foreground!?!). It is an awesome photo though!! The ghost people rock though!!! Do do spoil the professional look.
