I'd be inclined to stick with the 3.64 on a M50B25. Palmside in Chch are the quaife dealer, last time I asked they were ~$1600.

Well done Grant(s). I think we (married folk) will have to make this the "Phrase of the Week". On a side note Re: Wedding Cars. I had a E30(mine), a E34(E34-535ti's) & a E32(E34-535ti's boss), made really good photos!!!

What gearbox are you running?? If it is a 5spd from the E36 it will have a 1:1 5th so you'll want a 3.25 or 3.46 (3.73 at the shortest). It is more economical to get a quaife centre for your open diff than to import a 2nd hand LSD from the states and then get it recon'd. my $0.02

Why u should always tighten ur lugs nuts properly!
E30-323ti replied to dave's topic in General Discussion
When I first took my car for a drive after putting the big brakes on there was this horrible wobble when you used them after I had done some hard stops, all concerned I thought I hadn't bolted a caliper on properly. Got out to have a look, 3 wheels bolts about to fall out and 1 half way, oops :banghead: -
Why do these things always come up at the wrong times!! If only I had the $$$.

I have looked at 3 lately. 1998 3.2 6spd techno violet w/gray leather ~95k ex-singapore $40k V.good cond. 1995 3.0 5spd Dakar Yellow w/Black leather ~130k nz new $32k OK Cond. Bit scruffy 1998 3.2 6spd techno violet w/Black leather ~45k ex-UK $49 Immaculate, like new. As with any M car a full inspection would be a good idea as they cost $$$$$$$$$$$ to fix when something goes wrong, and check for accident damage repairs (becoming more common with so many imports).

Unregisterable in NZ and prolly a 3.0l 5spd. But Kewl non the less.

OT/FYI: Any oiled filters can cause probs on "hot wire" AFM cars (subaru's Nissan's ...) Some oil from the filter gets sucked through and deposited on the wire, when the engine is turned off most ecu's do a self clean of the hot wire by heating it up "alot" this is when te damage occurs and leads to the AFM failure.

Your either Female or batting for the other team with comments like that!!! Someone give Brent a medal for: 1. Figuring out how to get her thumb off his forehead! AND 2. Figuring out how to keep his thumb on hers, or dare I say it, chained to the kitchen. **quickley runs and hides before any wives (my own especially) / Girl Friends / Feminists read this**

Mike, Come and take my old one away!! Single 2.25" with long coby in the centre and a triple flow type rear muffler. complete up to the firewall. Free too!! I'll prolly be at the WS tonight if you want to come and grab it. 025 324 919

Not quite how I put it. The oil gets into the intake manifold from the breather on the valve cover, this gives everything a nice coating in black goo after years of use. This gooey oil mess can also end up in your TPS (which is on the under side of the throttle body) which can cause the engine to run badly. The throttle body needs to be removed to get to the TPS, from there it is easy to remove, disassemble and clean (carb cleaner again), once again, no dramatic HP increases but a M20 (May also apply to M10/40's etc...) that runs smoother.

BMW. Ali got one for his E36 sedan, Front and rear, were about $800, drop him a PM.
-
Has it got 6pot AP's on the front and 4pots AP's on the rear and SMG?? There was one at the Mt Vic hill climb with those mods and a racing dynamics badge on the rear, it was phatness

With tyres that wide, when they wear down you'll find it will aquaplane like a swamp boat!! Many people make the mistake of "over tyre-ing" vehilces thinking they are getting more grip by doing this, when in fact they are losing grip in some (extreme) cases. I'm not saying your 2ton ubersaloon is over tyred, just that width isn't the answer. And I'm sure you could get the beast sideways if you give it enough encouragement!!! Now that would be a sight!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, the S42 is basically a race version of a M42, with displacement of just under 2.0l, built for use in the BTCC etc... And as such it didn't "Come in anything" but was built for a purpose.
-
As in a S14?? Well if you are calling a built 2.5l S14 cheap, then it sounds like you have too much play money!!! Bastard!!! And a S42 must be horrendously expensive!!! Love the pics.

Welcome aboard. I was admiring your E36 in the Motoring Guide the other week, low mileage too wasn't it!?!?!
-
I have a web page that is a work in progress, I'll prolly finish it off when the current round of mods are done.
