  1. Best "bang for your buck" on a E36 would be to get the front brakes off a E46 330i (325x25mm) and the rears off a E46 328i (300x20) as they bolt straight on. You can also use E46 328i front rotors (300x22) with your stock calipers if you buy new carriers (the bit the caliper slides in) from a E46 328i.
  2. good luck gusto.Location: Newcastle, Australia
  3. Pink or Green stickered.Off to VTNZ for a WoF. That's if they are real anal!!
  4. Post the pic's for all to see. I had a Recaro SR (fixed back race seat) in my Evo, but that bolted straight to the Evo seat rails as they have Recaro's stock. No cert needed. And thats exactley why you need a cert.As soon as you start modifying/making sturcural changes to the chassis, seat mounts, seat belt anchorages, etc... it's time to talk to LVVTA certifier.
  5. Presuming you have a M20 E34 not a M50 Then: According to the BMW ETK it will have a 4.45 Medium Case (Type 188) diff. It is quite a rear ratio for Medium (type 188) diff, but unfortunately the E34 case won't fit into anything else except maybe E32's. You can get a lower ratio diff from most 325 E30's & E36's and E28 5 er's. But you will have to take the two (yours & the new lower ratio diff) to a Diff shop and the internals swapped over.
  6. I think they do need certing. Mine is certed for non-OE seats. Esp. if you use E30 seat rails as BMW was so kind to mount the seat belt anchorage off it!!
  7. here is a good site that has the OEM BMW Wheels. Style 67 are the M3 wheels 18's & 19's ONLY http://zoouz.free.fr/wheels.htm
  8. CRAZYSAM: According to the BMW ETK the E46 M3 did not come with 17" wheels in that style, more to the point that style of wheel was not manufactured in a 17" size, only 18x8 et47 & 18x9 et27.I'm sorry if someone has mislead you into believing they are "Genuine" BMW wheels but I am here (being a MOD) to keep the integrity of this site and not let it get full of mis-information and protect the interests of the members. And yes I have plenty of better things to do!!!
  9. Please remove the "Genuine" from the topic line, don't need any more misleading info on the net thanks. And not to be off putting to the sale, but, you can get those wheels brand new with tyres for 2/3's what you are asking, you may want to reconsider if you are after a quick sale. They look great BTW, why are you selling them?? Bigger ones maybe??
  10. 18's are fine on a E34.The later M5's may have had stiffer shocks/springs but the geometry & chassis are the same so there is no reason why they won't work!! Sam: Remember what clean wheels look like!!!!
  11. This is just what i was told by previous owner. They 17" jobs.Came of an M3 that was damaged in the flooding up North somewhere. They guy took em off before the insurance company got to it. The front wheels have spacers, yeah, about an inch or so, but the back didn't need em apparently. They are replica's I'm sorry to say.Still nice wheels though. They will be E36 fitment (et42 'ish) and 7.5" or 8" wide. As you said they fit the rear without spacers but you can see the rear wheels are tucked a long way under the guards. If I were you given the brake shimmy, I'd sell those wheels to someone with a E36/46 and get some in the correct fitment, those wheels do come in a E34 offset if you like the style. Not older at all, they are the standard 18's, the 19's are an option!!
  12. Very tidy looking E34.They don't look like 18's & are the wrong colour for OE M3 wheels. The fronts should be 18x8" et47 (you would need 1" spacers for those puppies) The rears should be 18x9" et26 (which would only need small 5-10mm spacers)
  13. You'll prolly find it is either a warped disc (replace or get machined) or it will be the bushes on the end of the front suspension arms (the inside rear of the two). Odd that the wheels needed hub adaptors 'cause those wheels come on a E34 offset. Unless you have Genuine staggered E46 M3 set of wheels (which would be unusual). Just FYI, you would need a cert plate to run adaptors or spacers of any kind, so if you don't have one don't have any prang's or the insurance company will bend you over!! Oh, and welcome aboard

    ROFLMAO What a muppet!!!
  15. Can you not just display another 5 fields of data on the same spread sheet?? I have a programme from quaife that I have modified to add different tyre sizes & gearbox/final drive ratios. It spits out a graphical & text comparison between however many setup's you want!!
  16. I'm a Design Engineer for GHD Been here 2 'n a bit yrs, was with BECA for 5yrs before that. I primarily do Roading design & Construction Supervision, but dabble into Stormwater design, land drainage, and the odd BMX track, Skate park etc... NZCE Civil. and as Ian said so elegantly:
  17. So this would be a relativly simple brake upgrade then? I dont think Ill be doing it for a while - Ive just done new front shocks and brakes in my 325 too. Havent had time to go back to the mechanics and pay up - hes a good prick like that! EDIT: Would obviously need the E46 calipers etc too eh! yip, bolt on!!Yes you need the 330i calipers. Which are hard to find, 328i calipers are more common and they have a 300x22mm rotor.
  18. 'cause with a press you stick the subframe into it, load it up and it's done!!It was maybe 1min each side!! But if you don't have access to a press then you don't have much choice!! CaM: you only burn the rubber out, not heat the subframe up to hundreds of degree's C and wait for them to melt out!!
  19. LOL I used a press to get my E30 ones out. But got the E28 ones burnt out GUS stylz!!!
  20. where do you work??My wife deals with alot of truck mechanic places, she works for TR Group.
  21. in that case you won't want the jamex 60's!!They are softer!! I had them before the Kings!! The exhaust use to hit the ground when I gave it the shoe!!
  22. Price is on the same page!!$300 Just to clarify, you hated the way they looked (ride height) I presume!?!?!
  23. I've got a pair of rear Kings Super-Lows & matching Koni Adjustable shocks! http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....wtopic=2868&hl= I can hook you up with the fronts also, but they will be a bit more $$$ & brand new. ps. for really low springs (which are usually shorter than stock) you will need shorter shocks (like the konis) to keep the springs captive, or Mr.Plod will slap you with a pinky!!
  24. Thats a rip-off!!E46 330i rotors are $125ea from BMW!!! and they are 40mm bigger!! I would expect $125 at the most!! And it is a piss easy job, no need to replace the pads if they aren't worn, just note if your old discs had any big grooves they will be reflected in the pads!! And use a G-clamp to push the piston in!!
