  1. If you had a spray booth definitely lol .... Probably won't do it in a workshop again. Too Much dust from everywhere even after a big clean up and also water on Ground
  2. Bumper done. Also went diamond black on the kidney grill's and mesh. After some buffing of the car and the sun to come out. Might get some final photos
  3. haha yeah - plenty of channels i with e46 work i see the same thing, fluid spilling over camera's happens all the time - it must be an e46 omen
  4. I watch 50s kid all the time, he knows exactly how to show for how-to's
  5. oh man love it when theres some youtube documentation, Some really good growth on Youtube lately for DIY which helps 1,000X when i'm doing a project and need some one to point to me the bolts rather than me spending hours finding them.
  6. As in I usually buy OEM off RM european in the states some where, for less. Are they based in the states too?
  7. That's the one - FCP are quite pricey
  8. Mint - gives me a reason to give it another oil change, and show it some love.
  9. Does anyone know the specific reasons that could trigger the orange oil inspection light on the e46 2002 330ci m54 engine? It comes on just after i start the car and then goes away maybe 10 seconds of driving it. I checked the dip stick, looked like it was over full - is it possible that over full oil can trigger the orange light on start up. Any thoughts would be good ... Thanks
  10. Still need to wait a few days do a bit of buffing. Then onto the bumper
  11. Looking to buy a radiator expansion tank 2002 e46 330ci m54
  12. Lol ... Thought about it... Still can if I wanted to I suppose with all this spare paint. The issue was with all the prep so was going to do section by section since I had a limited time window. And the paint on the other panels was mint any way. Looked like a past repair / paint job had stated to go south tho. But I'm ending up going to do the entire front bumper now, few scuffs and easier to sand back. So that leaves me roof + doors + fenders if I wanted to haha. Was also unsure on how much 2 litres of paint would cover, the shop suggested that I would need 2 litres (un-thinned) to do what i did.
  13. Also I used some 2k clear they said it was high density stuff which goes on alot thicker and alot more glass look at the end.
  14. Hmm probably 10 or so minutes before going back over. I kept it pretty dusty at first and then did a final wet coat at the end to get it nice and glassy. Quite interesting ... Bonnet + rear end of car only took like under 1 litre of paint + 1litre of thinners. And clear 1 litre / 500ml hardner and some thinners. Don't remember the paint going on that well in the past. I have a bit of rubbing and buffing to do one side. Have 1 run but other than that I'm stoked. Tempted to do rest of car because I have another entire litre of paint left and then some!
  15. Had to take back pillars to metal! Paint flared up on some weird solvent under there some where a repair job before I purchased the car. Have no idea what it was. If I were to do this again in the future i think all panels to bare metal would have saved some serious time in the long run. But goodbye Sunday!
  16. Should be some photos coming in the next few days Base coat had a reaction with something on one of the pillars somewhere, Have no idea what it was! Had sanded everything right back nicely, maybe some etch primer from a previous spray was hovering round. So small bit of re-do to do, Other than that everything looking sweet!
  17. And yes there is a gazebo setup inside a workshop. There is a bird nest inside the work shop and I can't risk bird crap on it over night!
  18. And yes lol were using a dive bottle for spray painting. Too much moisture in the workshop supply haha
  19. Just putting down a Matt surfacer .... Fark. Should have just done entire car Matt Black !!!
