  1. I chatted to them on the phone today getting it sorted lol, to clarify - the problem is "if they go off from being involved in a crash, they may have increased pressure due to humidity factors" not what i thought - i.e air bags randomly trigger due to defective inflators and take out a city block while without warning
  2. i figured lol, minutes before you posted i was looking for a beat up e30 to show some love, as my e46 has received too much love. and then this post i'll keep an eye out for it I used to drive an e30 m20b27 manual (that one with the stroker kit) sold it for under 5k yearsssssssss ago, and then all the e30's went up through the roof in price, i cry my self to sleep every day, electric windows and electric sunroof - the dream
  3. Are you selling me your e30? haha I also am fighting the impulses for a project car
  4. yeah ... its as you say, It's definitely had some big bumps over it's history - and during the respray i really started opening the can of worms. Left hand side - sits really snug right hand side - sort of hangs off the mount - you can't notice from a distance - but on inspection it's quite loose, and i'm always concerned that i might connect with something and cause some big damage because it's not 100% So wondering whether i do some DIY to the mount to make it more snug - or find out if there are some broken rivets connecting to the carrier.
  5. what wheels are they? car looks mint! love the wagons!
  6. hehe i mean i actually loose - time is money - i had to read the letter (5 minutes) - i posted some thing on here (5 minutes) - people reading and responding to the post (1 hour total lets say) so we all loose
  7. well worst case scenario i get me some new air bags ? that job is some times more than the value of the car!
  8. Thanks heaps for the Diagram Documentation Allan, I took a few of the covers off to see if i could inspect further visually between the two pieces, Looks like the carrier is attached firmly to the rear, Tightened up those bolts going from trim into carrier - fixed some of the issue on one side could be some broken clips on the bumper trim to the crash bar ... from a prang years ago. That diagram helped heaps - thanks Allan ... Jonathan
  9. Rear bumper - seems to be like the carrier can wiggle around a bit but unsure if this is normal. Do you know whether the shock absorber in the rear bumper carrier has any play typically? or should it be super firm All bolts tight, all mounts in order - have checked- and rechecked
  10. something about a humidity being a factor adding to internal pressure, plan on ringing them on monday!
  11. now we just need everybody else to black out their mesh and grills it's the only style to have
  12. Hey all, bolted up the bumper mounts seems to be firm But i can tug on it and wiggle it back forward / up down- there's maybe 5mm play in it, seems loose Or is this normal play for rear bumpers (like they have shocks in them) Have no idea - hoping for some insight Thanks !
  13. The letter is written in a tone that my car is going to kill me lol
  14. Anybody got a letter in the mail from BMW about an airbag recal?
  15. You've seen the articles, - sell the house - sell the wife - sell the kids - keep the dog
  16. Just finished a final buff, getting rid of those annoying scratches, Thought i would upload a quick before / after entry - what a rewarding journey Before After Before After
  17. Anyone got carbon colour badges on their car? Interesting look
  18. that might be easier, I have left over - 475/9 diamond black paint + thinner (1:1 mix) (1litre each / 2 litres once thinned) - 2k clear + hardner + autothane thinner 2:1 + 5/10% thinner - universal thinner Let me know ... should be able to sort something out
  19. You got a compressor? I'm in Tauranga bro - Paint Gear is my brothers workshop (but possible) will ask. How much paint do you think you will need? Paint and clear? Thinners etc?
  20. The CRC liquid cut and Polish works amazing btw. Got a 2 step finisher that adds nice deep glass look Still a few finger prints in that photo lol Trialed with some cheaper compound prior to crc and can definitely notice a difference especially in the time to get the result.
  21. Finished The Re Spray So today was technically the victory drive home from the workshops. Plenty of head turning from the glowing clear coat layers.
  22. That will be my weekend next! After the respray want to get the machine looking like glass!
  23. yeah subliminally i've been uploading this stuff not just as a progress memory for the future, but to tempt others to get into it. I mean who else wouldnt want black mesh, and black kidney grills, they make the car look way more agressive if you have a 330ci, you have to look aggressive. I can't believe the before and after shots of the car, wen't from average looking vehicle before - to 1000x
