Have been looking every where Any one know the order in which injectors fire or if they are batch fired (e.g. batches cylinders 1,3 then 2,4 then 5,6 ) Where do you reckon i could get this information? Any help on that would be greatly appreciated Next, Any one had a fuel pressure regulator with problems ? I have a sluggish car at the moment, and think its fuel related, Fuel filters new enough, but going to replace it any way, what can i expect if the fuel pressure regulator is playing up or needs replacing ? Thanks heaps MERRY CHRISTMAS !

any one got a spare starter motor lying around to suit m20b25 motor Thanks heaps

The gospel here lol

Amen to that, i also think that one of the main reasons there are accidents on the roads is cause of arrogance in the attitude, and to see people taking consideration about other drivers by warning about (hazards to the wallet) is still some sought of consideration for some one else. Good to see people communicating on the roads full stop, no matter what it might be.

Hey guys its a 1987 320i shell with my 1986 325i motor in it Perfect running order, bar the starter motor needing replacing, teeth are worn. Few minor things that need doing to have it to the standard i would like it at but has to go because of some unavoidable debt. going cheap so Looking at $3000 ono Not going to bother listing the minor things that need doing, will answer to those who are interested i am in the tauranga area, is drivable, but does not have a wof or reg as it has been a project
-
yeah all thats fine, im guessing the starter motor has seen its last days then. (i was thinking ,knowing my luck id damaged flywheel lol) i think a new loom, and converting to 1.3 will remove what ever problems i may have caused

any one got a spare power steering pump ? ive shredded one of the nuts going into it, and is going to be a mission to get it out for a m20b25 motor, but i hear most of e30 ones are practically the same ? any one got one lying arround
-
as in im just going to have to replace the old loom, with the new loom, install front crank angle sensor, and the only other difference would be the ecu plug ? from 2 rows of pins, to 3 ? can some one else confirm this ? so i dont get half way through the conversion and then get left with my car off the road for a extended period of time ? also, will i expect a more efficient car with a newer ecu design? or is there little noticable difference between 1.1 and 1.3 thanks heaps for the info
-
yeah, some times its just best not to ask why, and what happened, ive had enough things go wrong, that have no explanation, and then miraculously go again, maybe im just going crazy hmm
-
i havent heard of many auto transmissions that run into problems untill 200,000 + kms, if its been treated nicely but you cant always guarantee it. i personally would change it every 100,000 kms, for peace of mind, but thats because id do it my self, and dont have to pay some one. how much are they charging ?

hey, has any one converted 1.1 mototronic to 1.3 im having to do a few repairs on the engine, including replacing the loom, and want to know if converting 1.1 to 1.3 is a easy swap, engine loom wise, i realise that im going to have to replace ecu, front pulley and install sensor, but any other alterations ? e.g. afm, vaccum sensors etc since the engines going to be out for a bit, is it worth while making the conversion ? thanks
-
No harm in doing some research first e.g. - when it was last changed, if at all - how much it will cost to change and then you can make a educated decision, just so you dont throw away money just yet i would change it every 100,000 kms any way just for peace of mind
-
after today, and related problems, just my luck, looks like im taking apart half the fn car again, going to have to get a new loom and ring gear on the flywheel is most likely farked, since im doing the loom, would it be worth my time converting to mototronic 1.3 (from 1.1) im aware ill have to buy ecu, and front pulley stuff / sensor, but who would recommend, since im doing other various tasks while im at it ? (prefacelift m20b25) if i didnt mention it before Also, is there any chance to find out what injector plug corresponds to each injector, just to check i have them in the right order ? any advice, would be fantastic, as i am UTTERLY COMPLETELY STUMPED

what fuses are tacko related ? any one know ?
-
hey, me here again There are many wires (brown insulation) earthing out to the intake, near the diagnostic plug, any one have any idea what exactly they are earths from ? and how they would effect the cars peformance ? and also, the injector plugs, (part of the engine loom) any way of figuring out the order of them, on the odd chance i got 2 mixed up? And if 2 were mixed up, im assuming that could cause some serious power loss ? Thanks heaps guys
-
Hey guys, cant remember when it started doing this on a pre facelift, 1986 325i, my speedo gauge has stopped responding, wont move off the zero mark, what are some things i could check, that could cause this also, the light that lights up the dash gauges has also stopped working, probably just a blown bulb ? or are there fuses that could also cause this Any help would be awsome thanks heaps
-
Cheers mike, as i thought was just checking though
-
side topic i have a prefacelift (1986) 325i running a motronic 1.1, or am i mistaken and by this information its actually 1.3? or is this solely referring to 320i's
-
yeah, as i thought, only other piece of information i need, i guess im going to have to change ecu to moto 1.3 ? this is just a temp transfer, just til i can get my budget soughted for turbo build and wait for link to get back to me to see what they can offer, i have just had really bad luck with the gear box sensors being destroyed and im looking at eliminating that problem all together
-
cool. i have established from this topic, that converting to 1.3 will probably be more hassle than im in for i had the engine all up and running, with sensors in the box, and has now destroyed my 3rd lot of crank angle sensors due to bad luck believe it or not 1st was some thing loose in the bell housing, which was the mechanics fault, 2nd god only knows, since ive had the engine out, and transmission off, and inspected every thing from all angles and cant find any thing that would jump off, and destroy the sensors 3rd, happened again, car wont start, and now i am SICK AND TIERD OF CRANK ANGLE SENSORS i might have to bite the bikkie and see what link CAN offer, because if moto 1.3 doesnt need them, then i dont see why i should need them
-
haha, was going to search other forums for this info but you guys are much more fun to talk to In regards to the rb20 turbo engine in my friends silvia (but bmws will always be where the love is, well e30's haha) In the make of a more efficient Intake manifold, e.g. getting rid of the old Plenum, and counting how many stupid vaccum lines there are, and pointless sensors. in general, of running of a car, or turbo car Which ones are needed ? Which ones are just a monumental waste? And there appear to be miscelanious Air temp sensors on the intake, in removing them how could we sabotage the running of the car ? e.g. just trying to tidy up, and cut out what is a complete waste of time. Pictures uploaded soon, but any help would be fantastic !!!!!

So if im running a link g3 ecu, i wouldnt have to worry about crank angle sensors in the gearbox ? or convert to 1.3 and then G3, Not too sure
-
hey guys, in the not too distant future, ill be heading into the turbo build, and organising my budget. Just a minor question, regarding crank angle sensors, ill be running a link g3, and i am quite frankly fed up with crank angle sensors in the gear box, any way to by pass these? What have other people done, i have had countless problems with crank angle sensors, and i keep coming across people with so called identical motors, (m20b25) which dont even have the gear box ones present any way, let me know guys looking forward to another turbo project to be added to the bimmersport glory

Very interesting problem, suspect the fuel pump is cutting out but seems to splutter more round certain corners the petrol tank was drained and left empty for a bit, possibly more than 6 months, any chance because it was empty rust could have developed ? and now is loose and blocking up the fuel pump ? or maybe when it was empty the fuel pump crapped out because it was dry ? any ideas ? cheers guys

show us what ya got brother ! lol dont talk like that if ya aint gunna step up to the play i think we should add bonus points for stubbies, maybe even head bands ?
