    Awkward

Alright, so after the rangi mod thread i guess i find my self writing this, because i ask my self "there is no way in hell any one else would find them selves in this situations" For instance, there have been plenty of instances, that im sure all e30 drivers have come to understand, e.g. towing, awkward break downs, and the places you never thought possible the car would come screeching to a halt. For those people that live in tauranga, there is a turn off to tauriko crossing a passing lane / merging lane onto a state high way. And i was unlucky enough while towing my brother home in his e30 for the tow rope to break mid crossing. So after curbing the 4X4 in a seriously awkward place, running back over the state highway to push the e30 across the state highway to a safe location ! What i find astonishing, is that the people driving along the highway who could clearly see this, didnt slow down, they just keep driving, if not faster. There have been plenty more breakdowns off memory, but i think it would be entertaining to hear some other awkward situations others have been in.
  2. this by far is my most favourite thread, never ceasing to amaze me the extent people take "shell be right" with their automotive possessions ! +1 for finished pictures of the bogga ute
  3. So far i believe we have a winner lol
  4. Yes, under law you are entitled to end up with the car in the same condition / better condition after repairs. I have had a similar problem, and i took it all the way to small claims court, because if you hit some one, i believe you should pay the price. You are in the right. Technically if insurance is covering it, a insurance evaluator will decide which panel beater, but i am unsure how this would be decided if it were between you two parties. I would just be prepared to take it to small claims court. So start documenting some of the facts, and your recap of the event.
  5. farrrrrrk this topic has got out of hand, i think there should be some award, my 60pack of coke a week !! NICE !
  6. lol it was a team effort, and as mentioned not over a "short space of time" possibly a month maybe, but that is still what i would consider irresponsible for sugar intake. Teeth are perfect, brush morning, lunch and dinner, from the paranoia of cokes effect on teeth, and my hate for needles. Diabetes no, im fine, theres a line, that i havent yet crossed. I might tone down on the coke funds though
  7. If cocacola turns out to be the cause of liver failure one day, just like cigarettes turned out to be a high influence in lung cancer. Im in deep sh*t lol (this was not all consumed over a short space of time, but never the less an impressive collection)
  8. Probably, before you take flight and back flip with all that frontal dynamics
  9. Having a few problems with the daily driver at the moment. Waterpump has been replaced Took the car for a drive, and the temperature gauge spiked, but the system may not have been properly bled. But it is doing some thing odd at idle, when its at temperature, the fan will turn on/off on/off on/off, and it wont make up its mind. Could this hint a faulty Thermostat? What about temperature sensors could this create symptoms like above? Any help would be great, cheers guys
  10. This is inspiring ^^
  11. gosh my day gets better, bought a water pump from repco, they assured me that while the pump was their "repco brand" identical to genuine. and it did look identical, and bolted up fine, untill it came to bolting up the pulley wheel onto the waterpump, turns out they got the dimensions wrong by 2mm diameter. Which is enough to make it impossible with out either returning the product, or improvising. Having already wasted half a day with the previous frustration. (Block your ears glenn, and dont read this) i decided to drill into the pulley wheel so that the bolts would be able to line up (after carefully measuring), works like a charm. . . . that is not some thing im proud of, but after 5 hours of your day gone, i had had enough. I didnt bother to take photos because it may have frightened some mechanics. So i have learnt a lesson, if im ever going to buy after market again, (if ever) i will be taking verniers and every thing needed to measure accordingly
  12. I think its about time we have a "rangi mods" page, here was a little bit of fun i had, on a fwd 4age, i hate the buggers because their so damn tight. So any way , i spent 6 hours swearing and managed to undo 4 bolts max, because i got stuck on the crank pulley bolt, some one had put thread locker on it, and torqued it up past 120nm, that was all i could measure, so after failing to obtain a rattle gun, since every one had conveniently misplaced theirs, i decided to go into my "think pad" and i came up with this genius idea, as a careless, see what happens, means to an end. To my amazement, worked like a charm . . . Any other strange rangi mods, any of you have resorted to come up with? Resize your photos please

  15. What were these wheels off before ?
  16. Banner is going to be changed, that was just a default banner from another site till the system gets up and running, as theres alot of system work to be done Contact details will probably be put in the banner, was just no need to as its not up running live on his server yet. And thanks on the heads up about the 3 blues, need to simplify the color scheme down a bit. We use our own ecommerce software, as its proved to be much more potent on the search engine and i hate fiddling round with other peoples software Thanks for the feed back, its always good to have another set of eyes on some things that need attention
  17. Images like this and Web sites like this, which some of you may remember from a few years back, cnet rated it as on of the top 10 web sites of 2005 http://istanbul.tc/mahir/mahir/ And this here is also totally true The oat meal

    wont start

A little more info, Have you checked its got spark ? are you sure AFM is fine ? Do you have fuel pressure tester ? Cover your basics and cross them off one by one Any splutters when you try and start it ? Fuel pump could have burnt out, but im not sure, never had one completely die. I would have thought fuel pump issues would cause spluttering and power drops, thats what i had
  19. Dont you just hate that
  20. Synthe.co.nz has had "a bit" of a redesign / over haul Its not totally finished yet, but heres a link Synthe.co.nz Opinions ?
  21. Well, since your new to this forum youl need to buy a bimmer sport sticker to add 20hp to your car, and check your dizzy cap, since it is the cause of nearly all problems. Lol and +1 for pics
