  1. I ran 15mm H&R hub centric spacers on my old E30 for ages, they weren't that easy to spot either with BBS RS alloys and the brake dust blending them in I never cert'd them and had no problems with WOF from 3 different places in Hamilton
  2. Eagle

    Benz E63 AMG

I thought the whole point was not to run an E39 M5 into the ground thru daily driving. With an E60 M5 being so common etc it doesn't matter.
  3. I'll buy local if its reasonably priced, available or i need asap. For me its usually alot less hassle to shop online, you know all the prices, stock levels etc, and only takes a week to arrive usually. The issue i encounter with local is the older\less common parts that aren't stocked, which you gotta wait 2 weeks for(understandably) eg M30 intake gaskets - couldn't find them anywhere in NZ(luckily Brent had some).
  4. I figure these used to be my old ones? So yeah id agree with above also.
  5. Why i mainly attend private trackdays. Sadly Bimmersport is lacking compared to what it used to be when it comes to events.
  6. I think only morons type with the caps lock on
  7. The server was moved to fix the many issues that were happening so you had to wait, it was only 7 days ago that it was all sorted and running again.
  8. True Yeah Porsche did some crazy interiors. I remember driving a 944 S Silver Rose, they do grow on you.
  9. Considering the M versions are 3x the price your bank account might be wishing you hadn't bought one. They both got their advantages but a manual transmission would be at the top of my list regardless. In my experience its always auto's that have always left me wishing, hence ive never kept one for very long.
  10. What did you want for the style 66's?
  11. Not every one has to drive around in shitty Auckland traffic
  12. the price difference is going to be a fair gap also
  13. $40 shiiit, i paid $26 at BNT like 2 weeks ago.
  14. Should be specs on the net. Usually around ~1.2L
  15. End of the day you really $ set aside for most repairs before you buy, even more so when you don't do your own spannering.
  16. Whats with all the brown crap on the pipes etc, looks like its been off road or something hah. Could be a number of things, these engines arent exactly basic and you really need to scan it imo.
  17. Leave it and see if it starts when cold in the morning would be my first suggestion. Having a scanner helps in these situations
  18. Yeah but he doesn't want the pitiful 3L version
  19. K's are nearly always irrelevant, one of tidiest cars ive owned had done 520,000km and needed nothing done to it. Way too many factors to put a lifespan on things like starters and fuel pumps.
  20. I feel alot more comfortable towing with a manual transmission I did Christchurch to Hamilton on about bit a less than 2 tanks of fuel in my 540i6, mostly driving at speed limit. The M62TU has more pull down low till around 3000rpm but M62 makes more power. Plenty of dyno's showing the M62 non vanos is the better engine for overall performance.
  21. No 4L E39's I prefer the M62B44 over the facelift TU one myself but how well its been looked after and whats been replaced on it etc takes priority.
  22. For me E39 535i is just a poors mans 540i(like a 320i vs 325i) it no benefits besides being potentially cheaper than 540i but i wouldn't bother. The <98 V8 is a good engine not quite as durable as the 4L but yeah still pretty reliable as long as its been looked after.
  23. 540i would be the best for towing due to low end torque. As reliability they both got their flaws but i think it would come down to the individual car(whats been replaced, service life etc) Obviously the V8 would cost a bit more to maintain\run and wont handle quite as good as the 6's but it does have a quite a power advantage. I think you'd have to drive both to see what you'd prefer as they both got their advantages
