I see - I thought it might be the doors or something else that made it an Individual, as I thought Estoril Blue and Dove Grey were standard M3 options? Do you mean the Dove Grey interior + black door panels (vs standard grey panels on Dove Grey interiors) is part of the Individual option? Your combo looks the best, IMO. It goes really well with Estoril. Good luck with the sale, the new owner will be one lucky guy.

Nice car mate, I've looked at your ad a few times. Didn't realise you were a member on here as I wasn't around that long ago. Your car looks very nice, love the colour and the mods. Price-wise, for what you're asking I'd say you need to wait around for the right buyer and who knows when that is. $25k might be a better price point. Reasons: - I remember there was an ex-HK Estoril Blue E36 M3 that sat around on TM for quite a while, and I think it went down to about 25k. Yours is NZ New, but that one also had quite a few ACS mods. - With the release of the E92/E90 M3 E46 M3 prices are only going to keep dropping, so 30k for an E36 M3 might be a hard sell. Why is it an Individual btw?

I've only seen 4 or 5 in Auckland, and that's including the Imola Red one that was on TradeMe awhile back. Maybe they aren't being daily driven? Would be interesting to know how many were sold. There are so many E60 M5s on TradeMe but you only see a couple of E39 M5s a year.

After posting that, I think I read somewhere that only Europe got the 3.8 and ROW got the 3.6 until 1993, guess that applies to us. I saw your car on the BMWCC website, it looks very tidy. Rare colour too! Did you own it since new? Hope the 3rd one is still around... Why did they only bring in 4? Was the demand for the M5 that low? Granted they couldn't churn them out as quickly as they were handbuilt, but I would have expected there to be more in NZ. I'm also wondering how many E39 M5s there are in NZ. I've only seen a handful around.

Good luck mate, like Mark said I've also seen people post DIYs for colour changes as well so it's possible, not sure if it's changing the film or changing the actual bulbs/LEDs or whatever they use now though.

Thanks for the info. I'll say it again, you learn something new every day... If the headlights are glued together the same way the E39 CELIS headlights are, you can bake them to take them apart. Probably more trouble than it's worth, though.

I replaced the entire unit (bulb and holder) in the past, but I vaguely remember someone mentioning that you could remove the bulb from the holder and replace it with a bulb of the same type available from Repco etc. Anyone know if that's true?
