  1. You'll also get good a packing up the area regardless of car. You'll be amazed at the amount of stuff that will fit in a e36. On the annual holiday I manage to get s baby jogger, Porta cot, toys, baby bags, 7 pair of shoes ( I impose a shoe limit on the wife) three adults bags, the wife, mother and daughter and a couple of fishing rods. I reckon I could get an additional two packs of cards in the boot if needed. Bigger the storage srea, the more stuff you'll cart around.
  2. After a year of no sounds in the car managed to get into a state where I'm dialing the system in. Seem to have plenty of clarity with a kilowatt on tap. Next is to tidy up the console area.
  3. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Pictures on the car or it didn't happen ?
  4. Noticed corner weights last time beaurepairs did a wheel alignment in the wife's car
  5. There have already been comments from her that needs to be obayed. Personally I don't see an issue with taking another 14 years to have the second one ready for daughters 16th birthday
  6. Pop me a pm with your email address and I'll get some pictures from you. I'll post on the Wellington mini owners club fb page. Car could be worth more, above 10 k and your getting into collectors that start getting fussy about everything being original including engine. Looks like everything on it other than grill and engine would be original spec. ( unless deluxe model) Condition looks at top end though !
  7. mk1s in this condition I'd say $6 to $9k providing it has no rust. If it's a Deluxe maybe more. Which part of the country is it ? Damm, have a couple of mk1s myself otherwise ........
  8. Aren't these in the bmw dealer format from a few years back ? I suspect the owner got these remade via BMW this year. If no one can answer I'll pop him an email
  9. Went to a function tonight. on display was an immaculately presented nut and bolt restored M635 csi. Stunning !
  10. More at the e12 535i / e21 end of the 80s with those new fangled e30s...... I mean how could anyone possibly modify or yet afford one of those...... Move 30 years on from now the next gen of car enthusiast will be dumping 3000 nm's electric motors in f10s
  11. Use to hear the same aurgments from the Hotrod / Streetmachine boys in the 80's Reminds me of the old guys at the end of the muppet show. Please take it in the humor intended. http://youtu.be/NpYEJx7PkWE

    Dream Drives

Few years back Living in London, coming up to Xmas and the wife asks "what do you want for Xmas " my usual reply, "a Ferrari would be good thanks" knowing that we are unlikely to get one. Xmas roles around and there's an envelope. I'm thinking cd voucher, show tickets, clothing vouchers. Open to discover a voucher. Couple weeks later we head off to Silverstone F1GP track and I get to drive a Ferrari around the track at a reasonable pace.

    X5 M, X6M

Was seriously impressed with the last x6m. We drove it back to back with my m3. They are far better than you'd give credit to. Twin turbo v8 m engine and the weight just disappeared. Great interior as well.
  14. Added a Sony aux and iPod module to the wifes e36. Seems to work with iphone 4s & 6 which isn't bad for 2006 gear. Just need a 40pin Firewire to 40pin USB adaptor and it should charge the phone as well.
  15. Sorry Andy, got a bit caught up at the time you asked the Bmwcc club to join in. When I checked your thread it appeared that you had a full grid, hence didn't advertise. Apologies for that. Booking track days is quite a financial risk. It's hard to fill enough places to meet hirer costs .Typically they require cross subsidies or a few clubs or groups to bankroll the event. I think all but a few car enthusiast groups are having the same issue.
  16. Where's your sense of fun ? I take it Toms after the rhd version ?
  17. More tyre choice in 18s if moving away from standard Michelin pas ps2 combos In terms of rims Check out lm20 rims. Very nice for the price compared with bbs lm series . Btw those factory 19 inch rims weight the same as factory 18s so not too bad for 19.
  18. Haven't done the three above with mine ( driven mine 50,000 km) so could be fine on all items. Smg is supposedly harder on subframes but easier on the gearbox so you'll never be up for 20k replacement. Rotors do wear quickly but have more than likely been done at this mileage. Otherwise your looking at about $2.8k for the dealer to do rotors and pads. Mate owned owned one in this color and sold it about a year ago. Find out if the car was owned in Wellington before this. If it's my mates old car then it's been better maintained than the majority of m3. Fantastic car to own. Car has plefty of driving charisma. I haven't tired of mine in 3 years and hope to keep rather than replace at a later stage.
  19. Maybe something like the Belkin brand ? sold where ever iPhones are sold. http://www.belkin.com/au/AV10128-Belkin/p/P-AV10128/
  20. Would it be possible to add a 3.5 mm audio jack into the standard iphone 6 design ?
  21. Come to think of it the fronts had about 1.5 to 2 mm and the rears had 3.5 mm. But in the M3 smg you can adapt the dsc for for disparit tyre sizes by pulling back on both smg paddles for 50 meters at over 60 kph. I had done this. Not sure how tyre change adaption would work for 330d ( or manual M3). Maybe try holding down the tyre pressure monitor button whilst moving for 8-10 seconds ? The tps will re-learn the rolling circumference for each tyre . Maybe it updates the dsc system ?
  22. Could it be that the torque from your 330d is simply overwelming your tyres ? Used to have a similar issue with my M3 which has less torque. Suspect the rear tyres (255s) had gone hard. Replacement tyres sorted issue. ( current gen sticky tyre)

    Tim 325

By the way , did you find a cheap source for tyco bush contacts by any chance for the connectors or did you by via bmw ?

Some interesting challenges you've tackled. I didn't realise that the m seats where so heavy until I removed the passenger seat recently. Very heavy with all the motors.
  25. So new processor arrived. Needed to move the laptop 12 volt charger and add another power on relay for the amps. Reused the old Japan telephone bracket and added more rivnuts. Processor fits in old factory amp location and helps to brace the navy rack. So , the factory tuner will power on accessory distribution fuse box. This powers on processor and laptop charger ( and computer fans if ended later on for forced cooling) Processor in turn will turn on amps so the system should be turn on pop free. Used a small fuse box and found it bolted to existing holes within the boot cross member. Its feed via 30 amp cable so will be fine for low current accessories. Next was the battery wiring and amp distribution block. Uses 0 gauge cable into the block and 4 gauge to each amp. Overkill really but the voltage drop across the cables should be very low. All fits underneath factory battery tray Boot wiring now complete for stereo , pc , Ulf and reverse cam. Next stage basic processor input level tune.
