derailer for chain tension....as i dont have horizontal drop outs to tension the chain with i use a derailer...and it lets me run a variety of gearings (ill carry a few round). grant: the front does 80% of the braking...same as a car....you dont go flying as long as you use it without monkey hands....could prob do with back brakes but would need to go disc...no V brake mounts..might so sometime rigids are better for couriering......my susp fork steerer is too short due to the larger frame so doesnt fit...might do but im not fussed should be fun! hmm traffic

my other ride built this in between doing car stuff this week...frame cost $120 off trademe nice n simple...single speed (46F, 21R), one brake....less to go wrong! nice change from my GT Backwoods of 6 years or so

again.....here she is 1988 325i 5 spd Mtech 2 kit (front is not on, need to get round to painting it, but will be included) Diamondschwartz (don't believe the colour sticker) 111xxx Miles on old speedo...new odometer reads 104xx since juneish New Thermostat (spotless on the inside) new waterpump fresh oil/brake and clutch fluids/gearbox oil <1 year old clutch all tyres have heaps of tread jamex 40mm lowering springs shadowlined personalised NZ europlate "88 325" ellipsoids mint fogs (no cracks!) will not have leather, will have tidy grey cloth seats smoked indicators/side markers black headliner MTech one steering wheel WOFed/Reg'd till April/Mayish Engine had a bottom end rebuild before i got it...goes really well (maybe better than the one i took out? ) sounds good exhaust wise and otherwise works as it should. Compression test comes up good (+-5psi) will be putting on trademe either next week or week after so are giving Bimmersporters first look in...tell ya friends and family. Extras: Bilstein sports: $700 Headers and 2.5" Exhaust: $800 (maybe) starting at $6500, offers considered edit: ABS PS (new fluid) all electrics, sunroof about a week from trademe!

go a 318 indeedy....320s use as much gas as the 2.5 and are gutless anyway.....a 5spd one would be nice....maybe a facelift due to rust issues? its hard to pick a car, but if it seems like its been well looked after generally and drives nice it should be fine....get one of the wellie guys to come with you to take a look. also there seems to be a lotta ppl who can help out when stuff goes wrong....good luck!

Cool! another way of cops using their "Opinions" to fine people. Add that to the face that some old dude in a harley is unlikely to get fined, whereas the dude in an Evo will be. dude...if you want a 325, sell the 318is for stupid money and buy a M325i. plus it doesnt sound serious, a leaking radiator isnt really call for a new engine

the easiest way i found is to use the FL engine loom....320i should be fine.....have not read your post in detail but thats the gist of it. you will need to change the cooling system and the front pulley wheel, waterpump if you have not already holla
