  1. Having seen directly how education affects those coming overseas, all those with NCEA who think you can get by regardless of how much work you put in are seriously f**ked. The grades are not so important, its the work ethic that you get, and NCEA encourages bugger all of it. The biggest lesson I have learnt is that there really is no replacement for hard work...the sooner that is learnt the better
  2. well since we are talking Flywheel figures its mainly speculation.... as for the Turbo, I would put drivetrain loss around 15-20% max...25% is generally accepted for 4WD cars. so 180kw ATW x 1.2 = 216 and in HP = 289 plus for weight...having weighed my old M325i with bucket seats in, + full body kit + a heavier engine @ 1180kg, I cant imagine the turbo being heavier than that. So maybe more around the 245 hp tonne mark? Andy, please correct maths if the 180kW is incorrect, did Gavin not get that after tuning?
  3. haha....have you ever been to the dealer for pads?? they are $50 for a set of fronts...and with good (stock) discs and newish pads, you wont get brake fade on the track. multiple laps of puke were fine with me with my faster than stock M325i. and my stock brakes. do some research.

  7. Will, UK is going alright..in a great job currently so cant complain! No wheels unfortunately....swapped my car for Andy's turbo so thats sitting at home. E30 M3 not too likely unfortunately unless I stay for another couple of years. E36 M3s are cheap though! G

  14. i am not sure what you mean, do you mean the pressure plate bolts? if you mean them (the ones that bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel) make sure you get new ones...you can get em from a bolt shop/engineering supplies (i use wairau engineering on vega pl off constellation in Auckland) as it costs bugger all and saves them rounding off (which is a massive pain in the ass)

    welcome it is a 2.8. first thing should be converting to 5speed (assuming you can find a suitable box and other parts needed). making sure the suspension is in order etc. one option for power is the intake manifold from the 2.5L M50 engine (you have the M52b28 engine) which gives more top end power another is a decent exhaust manifold. 3 pedals on the forum has some experience with this
