Should I repaint my BBS RGs?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So I have a set of BBS RGs, and wanting a different look.

Currently they look this.....

But thinking of changing the painted gold centre to the colour on this....

Also, looking at getting the lips polished again.

What is every one's opinions? I think this will change the entire look of the car.

Cheers

spotted your car several times opposite Woolf's on Dominion Rd, i think it looks good as is. IMO, with dark coloured centres, you might lose the detail of the weaves.

Do something bright like orange, green or pink. Plastidip?

Cheap and reversible but could be a nightmare to remove on such an intricate wheel design.

A great idea would be to restore them in current original colour and finish. Coloured wheel fads are over.

Na easy to remove just soak it with desolve it. It depends on the colour of the car if it were me and e30 was grey id be going pink, seen this combo before looked bloody nice

Car is black, I was even thinking maybe painting them white?

+1 white

Plastidip is still easy to remove remove regardless of the intricate design provided you out enough layers. 5 coats should be enough.

They're beautiful wheels, why would you want to paint them?

Do you konw what I think Raerae ? polish the lips to a mirror finish using a wet and dry method and buffing wheels. Then paint the centers a champign colour. On your car that would be the tasteful and stand out look I would be going for.

Just a note: going dark on a dark car will remove the contrasted look most people want. You can only really get away with dark on light coloured car. This is what I did my first set of LMs that way. It was going on a polaris silver car.

For dark cars you want to stick with light colours

Just want something different than the norm, but something that doesn't look too tacky.

different from the norm would be rocking something that isn't made by BBS.

"boring" colours would look best imo. Josh said Champagne, that might work well.

Just dont do orange or lilac or some stupid thing like that. Its not a VW

The current is nice.

If it were me I'd look at a gunmetal, white, or possibly a navy blue.

Then again everyone has different taste :)

I think as it is looks kooool enough & retro but classy enough that it is actually 'different from the norm' & it's far from being tacky............... :)

I want to still, instead though I'm focussing on other things. Doing some other stuff to the car over Christmas that should make it more interesting to drive.

However refurbishing the wheels are still on my to do list :-D

were you able to re-paint yours?
