just as sh*t as I'd expect from a Toyota.

I don't know about that. I've had good experience with Toyotas in general. Been reliable family cars.

The lane assist in current Toyotas is something shocking, I’m regularly in a 300 and a Granace but thankfully you can switch it off. The Yaris Cross is even worse as the suspension is so soft. I believe enough people have complained about it that Toyota is issuing a software change to how aggressive it is.

I'm not surprised at all.  I feel like if you were not a confident driver you would let it dictate where it thinks you should be.  That could be dangerous.

Go drive a modern MG, things are atrocious. Its laughable they released them like this, and then people buy them!

Mainly the older folk pick them up probably to pay homage to the original MG’s, probably end up just as disappointed if they keep them past warranty period.

To be fair, I had a rental Ford Puma on the weekend and it too was a hateful thing. The DCT was never in the right gear and lurched like mad when taking off from a stop, the engine was noisy but did absolutely nothing when asked, the satnav interface was infuriating in its design and use, and the best positive i could come up with for it, was that the radar cruise was pretty good to use. Heaven forbid you turn on the lane keep/self driving thing though, it was super jerky and would just give up if it couldnt be bothered following a bend.

"Professional" mechanics.

I know there are legit mechanics out there, but f**k me are there some clowns out there doing bullshit work, is it just me or are they multiplying? These are both recent work done in the auckland area...

I fix sh*t for a crust (self employed), not cars, but If I did work like this I would be questioning my life choices and wondering if working at DcMonalds would be more suited.

I take all my cars, and the wife's, up the road for WOFs now as found there is an old school legit mechanic who I trust to have a clue and doesnt do sh*t work (Free plug for Hardwick Motors Ltd) but am genuinely concerned we aren't making any more of these folk.
