2008 M3 Coupe Damaged.

Recommended Posts

I'm assuming you mean too high? That tender would seem reasonable to me if not too low.

If you've got the spare cash I'd be at that if not more. Engine and tranny package alone out of that would be a steal for 6k.

Personally wouldn't be posting my tender price on here though...

Yeah, I think $6k is too high but I'm pretty uninformed on these things.

From my perspective the risk of buying a wreck with a potentially dead engine is just too great for $6k.

M3's are known for their poor handling and snap understeer.

I don't know anything about the handling of these bad boys, but snap understeer? Didn't know there was such a handling trait.

Person owned it for a week and thought he was a pro track driver right?

Haha ;)

Looks like someone tried to 'drift' at speed and hit a kerb.

Back right wheel is shattered.

Suspension will be f**ked.

Awesome vid but that's not understeer.

Oversteer combined with a terrible driver.

this is a faily old video and the owner of that vehicle is (from what a remember) a good driver and have owned many different bmws/expensive cars and is a forum member. Also he posted up a fairly longish summary of what happened and what he believes was the cause for the irratic/random behavior. also the damage wasnt as bad as everyone thought

^ he is (still) the laughing stock of the internet, and creator of the '1.5 psi too low' meme.

in my opinion, given that he

A) didnt try to do some drift/powerslide when near the crowd but waiting until the clear before giving it some jandal

B) attempting to correct before realising too late that it wasnt going to happen

and C) straightening up to hit the middle island straight on

shows that hes probably not a complete fool and made all the right decisions given the whole 5 seconds it took for this to happen.

Hardly attempted to correct at all.

If you can't react within 5 seconds there no hope for you at all lol

There wasnt a 5 second window for reaction more like 0.5 seconds before the car violently snapped out. The 5 second i was referring to was from the moment he put his foot down to when the car lept over the middle.

This is just like the debate when the video first came out. Not much agreement then either.

He's a f**king retard. 0.5 seconds is ages when things start to go pear shaped. And you can see from the video he hardly counter steered, he was either asleep or hopeless. It was a low speed tiny power slide

He doesn't stick around afterwards...

I wouldn't either after such an embarrassing episode.

Hardly looks like it snaps.

My 335i has veered off to the side a few times when using launch control on crappy, near finished, Bridgestone runflats. Just lift off and countersteer. Maybe that guy had aids off completely, I had them reduced (DTC mode). Wheels were instantly spinning and making a smoke cloud upon takeoff, car rotated as it moved forward..and it was easily controllable.

I know an M4 is more powerful but it has a limited slip diff, so shouldn't be harder.

I think he was half asleep :D
