Hope this gets used for an experiment!

I saw a Toyota Prius at zebra recently, a lot of interesting hardware hidden away.

Although very dangerous too, someone had unbolted the inverter / control unit to expose the high voltage capacitors, 450v x3 about the size of coke cans, certainly dangerous if an idiot fiddles with such.

This is NZ - we don't wonrry about stuff like that - if they hadn't de-registered it, some dude with some polyester resin, chop strand, and a screwdriver would have fixed it already!

And that is exactly the problem, I have seen too many dangerous repairs that some clown has thought "she'll be right", luckily only some resulted in accidents.

Wouldn't "BMDBLU" have been a better plate than "BMDBLW"? WTF does that mean?

I wonder how much a replacement carbon body structure costs? I assume the insurance premiums on these will be quite steep if they are basically unrepairable. I am also assuming there is no facility to recycle a carbon fibre car body in NZ at the moment? Progress huh!

Can't see them doing it with their dishwasher model.

More likely an I8 would be given its exclusivity.

They'll have lots of crashed ones already as an outcome of Euro NCAP testing...

none of which have real world use. BMW and everyone else test a car all they like in the so called real world but its all still a Lab.

you can't simulate real world use correctly, and is why there are common issues on every car made that aren't picked up and addressed during testing

If they need a wreck they have plenty already and can make as many more as they want.

I'm still more concerned about the license plate anyway!
