Though It's a little old and the gray interior is a bit meh. And I don't think the Mrs wants a Manual. But nice price. How do you like your one? I don't think I got to see it before I left. This 08 one looks good. Not manual of course though. $1k asking more. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1807306281.htm?rsqid=559b1f33557647029a3725219b47ddcd Edited October 23, 2018 by Driftit
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 Jesus. I love how you get clowns that modify an E87 like this.. then guys like Ray that put S65s in theirs. The juxtaposition couldn't be clearer! I guess it's one factor of the car world that always keeps me amused. 1

Had it for 60ks now with very little drama. Brisk performance, engine sounds good, trans is good, handling is good. Suspension is too hard and steering is too heavy. Seat bases are too narrow and It's a bit small for anything other than basic commuting. I'd probably prefer something else to daily but @ 82k on the clock now and with no issues it's not worth changing.
qube 3570 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 my only complaint about the e87 130i is probably the hard suspension (for daily duties around town) and the poor fuel economy. everything else it is excellent!

And the Jap imports flooding in seem to be well spec'ed. Compared to the 3 series that are coming in. Poverty Pack basic 3 series that looks like they were part of a rental car fleet. I will no doubt be commuting from the Waiarapa to Wellington when I come back. Need something a little fun. Yay I can't wait to spend half my money on fuel. Until I can convince the Mrs to move back to the US or somewhere else.

I average 8.7L/100km with the 130, and dont nana it, I thought it was good on gas (for a 3L hot hatch) Stock suspension is definitely crashy on some roads, there are fixes though! GorGasm 563 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 When my wife was driving mine it was on 9.8km/l city driving. Now that I am driving and stuck in peak it's down to 8km/l. I reckon 8-12km/l is the range, and I have no issues with consumption. Driftit you can give mine a blat when you are back. Also the M5 is a bit noisy now :). As a daily I'd prefer a 530i. Jacko 2158 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 Nope, 8.7l/100km (or 27mpg) mostly open road is what I do. It sits at like 6l at 100ishkmh. My 1.6 corolla used more gas
