leichtbau 525 Report post Posted June 2, 2020 Classic Alfa to replace an already unreliable V6 with an even worse version. The 159 should have at least come with the longitudinal version of the GM high feature V6. The pick of the range is the 2.4 diesel, which seems blasphemous in an Alfa. KwS 2425 Report post Posted June 2, 2020 We have a 159 at work at the moment that has had money spent on it hand over fist and it's still finding ways to not work. Currently (heh) has a mystery current draw. Gorgeous cars, but big nope to owning one. My 156 was a great car to look at and drive, but it was also an endless source of issues.

Lol, if you think BMWs are unreliable, its nothing compared to a Maserati Alfa. My 156 made my British classics look reliable and rust free.
GorGasm 563 Report post Posted June 3, 2020 (edited) Maser has been fine since it's first issues with the dealer (12 months in). To be honest all my euros have been similar repair wise. (M5, 130i, 535i, E500, E55, S4). Maybe the Mercs were a bit cheaper. The Maser service costs are the most expensive though, mainly as there aren't any indy's here. Same with Alfa, I don't care for Winger Maser/Alfa at all. Winger Subaru I was happy with. After more browsing, it really does look like a 130i manual is the best/most fun BMW you can get for under 10 grand.
