Herbmiester 923 Report post Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) Well its not as dramatic as that but the dash did light up like a Xmas tree and I was locked in park. I downloaded the fault codes (below) and I dod supect my water pump has died as its the right km (104k) for it to happen. I also got a high temp light on the dash as well. Whats the thoughts fellas? - DME active codes - 2DEB - DME: Power management, vehicle electrical system. 2E82 - DME: Electric coolant pump, cutoff. Matth5 471 Report post Posted August 29, 2020 Oh no not yours too! I hope yours is easier to fix Didn't think water pump issue would lock it in park? I've heard about people just driving short distances at a time to move these cars when the water pumps die. It's an odd mix of codes, cam shaft, water pump, DME, trans locked in park... likely just a dying battery or alternator? E87s tail light seals leak, and fill up the boot space that a few computers sit it, most common is the PDC. Which ends up sitting in a few inches of water, in its own private pool. air_1jordan 7 Report post Posted August 30, 2020 Same thing happened to my 135i, similar codes to what you have. DME needed to be replaced. Mine was water damaged. DME box seal had been pinched. Expensive if you go to a BMW Dealer ($2100 + GST) or you can send your DME, CAS & Key to a ECU specialist and they can clone your old DME to a new one or used one. I will check the charging system and battery (Only 18 months old). I will pull the PDC and replace as its not working anyway and finally check the DME for any water damage. Hopefully the DME is ok as I only had the MOSFETS for the injectors replaced a year ago, but opening it may have made it more prone to leakage, I guess I will find out. I will say the car still starts and will rev but after being on for 10 to 15 seconds the warning lights come on and it locks into park (but not if its moving). There is an electric water pump test process ...check the procedure for your model but it's roughly like this. This would be conclusive I'd think.
