_Matt_ 42 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 bitter sweet new e34 experience. Just got home from Auckland after picking up my new e34. I'm not very happy at this point. First of all the previous owner left the car connected and sitting for weeks which killed the battery. So $300 for a new battery that can actually hold a charge and I'm away. few small issues that i have found that I can fix no problem but then... I drove from Auckland to Christchurch no problem at all, car drives great, stopped at a few places too. I get to my place and unpack bags and then set of to get some dinner. WTF the car is shuddering pretty severely. It's an auto, i put it in N and rev it gets worse at higher revs. It's not misfiring, the engine sounds fine. Something out of ballance? I can only thing gumbo, harmonic ballancer. And why start after so much driving...it quite literally makes the whole car shutter. please give me an easy fix haha. cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted July 26, 2013 Hey guys, I haven't used the e36 for a couple of weeks and today i replaced the fan blade and ran her for about 5-10mins, i noticed some (not usual) white smoke from the exhaust, is this normal? I have read that it could be condensation in the exhaust or from the gas tank which is about 3/4 full... no coolant gone from radiator. Cheers

lord_jagganath 421 Report post Posted August 21, 2013 I think there is a carbon monoxide leak in my car, how can I confirm this?
jeffbebe 1560 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Found a (white) 25 amp fuse underneath the battery in my E39 when I recharged it. According to the manual the only 25 amp fuse in the trunk fuse bay is for the M5 fuel pump (and therefore absent in my 540). Any ideas what this might have been from or is it just coincidence that it was dropped by the fuse bay?
_Matt_ 42 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 I think there is a carbon monoxide leak in my car, how can I confirm this? turn on your engine and place your neighbours cat in the drivers seat. If it falls asleep you have a leak. If not, get the cat out before it tears up your seats.

vtgts300kw 90 Report post Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) My E30 has an intermittent start issue. It's happened 2 x in the last few weeks ( at the same geographical location oddly ) where it just won't turn over at all, like its dead flat. The first time it happened, I left it for an hour and it started up just fine. Tonight I just jump started it in gear as I didn't have time to wait around, and drove it for 20min home. Have just tried to start it ( after leaving it for 90mins ) and it won't turn over. All the interior electrics are working. Tried jumping it and that didn't seem to work either?
