So I think I'm actually 'done' with my car, as weird as it feels, I've nothing left on my todo list haha. Pretty stoked how its turned out and just enjoying driving the thing. Few photos Saturday night by @leebske

You would want to be somewhere close to Yosser Hughes' personality type to work for Instant Finance I would imagine from the particular segment of the market the work in.

So, have had a few distractions with this build, selling and moving houses, kids etc By t back into it now, have been steadily sourcing parts needed, but stumbled across a 328i on Manheim that had had a hit on the drivers front, guessing ran up the back of a truck by the looks. But a minter apart from that, manual with 55kms. So it’s easier just to chuck the whole engine gearbox in to get us going now. Happy days. Even had the original sales sheet in the service/manual folder. $98,360 new!! Didn’t realise they were that expensive. Has a mint cream leather interior.

Started stripping the E36 out, Getty f ready to pull the engine, these things are great to work on. Pretty much got it ready to pull out now, minus engine mounts. Pulled the exhaust off, didn’t realise these things had a full stainless system in them. Will strip out the interior, if anyone is keen for a mint condition cream leather interior, hit me up. Also panels etc

Just putting this out there if you're worried about having to dent pipes for clearance issues. Engine Masters on YouTube did an episode where they tested back to back dyno runs while denting the header tubing on a V8. They started with something like 550 - 600hp on the motor, then did some modifications to the pipes at random, resulting in denting or "crushing" the tubing. At the end of it, they lost 5 maybe 6hp with the damage they did - which they also said could've been put down to the time of day, different water/oil temps etc. etc. So the conclusion is that, if you have to crush a pipe somewhat to make it fit/clear, the difference in output is negligible. It's actually kind of interesting to watch because it almost destroys the whole theory around mandrel bent exhausts vs crush bent.

General consensus is beware of ex UK cars as they are more prone to underbody rust. A good inspection is recommended. However, I dont see anything appealing about this car you have put in the link? Non msport spec and has wheels from an E46 (wrong offset/fitment for E90/E91) Not particularily cheap either for what it is.. plenty of better examples around I think

I always do it. Its a great upgrade, and not as hard as it looks if you take your time. I always install the anti rattle kit to seeing as I'm in there anyway.

One of the only reasons I'm interested in cars is because of the noise they make, intake, exhaust, driveterrain etc. I like electric vehicles, they do and will have a place but they are flawed like everything humans make. I think it would be a fun project to make your own electric car out of something older, but its still an expensive exercise.

Just because a Tesla, or some Tesla's, accelerate fast doesn't give them a "soul or character" unless that character is an overgrown iPad that moves.
