Recommended Posts

worked on the 635csi today

swapped the electric seats out to working and sleightly less stuffed manual ones,

fixed the non returning wipers , new wiper motor

fitted fog lights back in

cleaned the wheel arches out ,looked like 29 years of crap in there

put the staggered style 32's back on

235/45-17" fronts and 255/40-17" rears :)

took the silly mudflaps off

cut the stupid turned down exhaust tips off

Pulled the front bumper off to create a bit more space in the garage. Also decided to fix it.

I just bought some bloody ridiculous 17"x11" 3 piece rims in the hope I can throw even more money at them so that they can fit appropriately on my E34.

I own an E34 which kinda infers I like spending all my money on cars....

Well I need to get them to Auckland then giggle madly.

I have to re-bore the centres so they fit for starters.

Then I have to dismantle what would be 2 for the front. Buy 2 new inner barrels, that are 2 inches shorter, assemble, polish and mount new tyres.

Then for the rear 2, I will need 10mm hub-centric spacers, mount 2 new tyres, heck certification will be cheaper than re-barreling those 2 alone.

But, I will take some pics when I get them in, cause the skeptics are going to say...'no flippin way'...

Should be fun...like all of the other minor/major projects I have don't to this car...not!

Chucked on some 16x7 OZ wheels, and went for a fang around Hampton. Also learned to use this sweet app "Race chrono" to time laps.

Got a full service done on the 335i at Burgers. New air filter element has added some extra zing! Next up is a Cobb, Konis and some new Toyo T1 Sports.

I did some rudimentary maths.

The 10's were et39

The 11's were et20

To make the 10's work front and rear would actually require a lot of work, mainly because neither inner barrel or outer lips would work for the front in any iteration. To my maths the inner barrels of the 10's were slightly larger than the ones on the 11's. Having the 11's at a squeeze should mean only a inner barrel change. Fricken huge lip for the front but from my maths its doable, and in any case gets closer to fitting the front thatn the 10's. I was actually going to by them staggered, but considering the modifications I would be having to do, it didn't make sense.

Taupo...where all the racing wheels live. Should have them some time this month. No rush, gives me time to let the coffers grow a little.feek.

An E34 not full of spare parts is technically not an E34.
