Curing the clear coat by driving! Still got some cleaning and polishing to do but it's looking a lot better under there now!
Also chipped the DMEs. Seat pants test says okay!
It was very quick to do so I'm confident I can swap them between dyno runs to check if the seat of my pants is correct.
Actually, there are still a few little bits of nasty yellow which I probably won't be able to get rid of until I remove the intakes but it looks pretty good in the interim!
Yep, that's him. Now owns a total of 11 8ers, including the press car csi Jeremy Clarkson drove on Top Gear (back in 1994), one of only 57 Alpina B12 5.7s ever built, an M8 replica race car and now a twin turbo ACS 850i. Quite a collection!!
Alan (the owner of the blue 850csi) just bought that ACS 850 with twin turbo setup from TM. He's going to finish it off for track/road. Reckon it'll be faster than his M8 replica rave car!!
Trialed a MSS54HP with all the usual goodies plus Superchip tune yesterday. Felt good though will need dyno to see what its putting out.
Will organise for a dyno run to compare the MSS54 to the MSS54HP.
`8M3` loved the flash to the MSS52 DME. Will be handy having them all with `dyno mode` permanently on to give an easy more accurate reading.
Awesome work Tom. Hellbm loves your skills.
Ha! You're probably right or we'd be driving cheaper, faster cars!
Also - from a personal point of view - my cars probably reflect my abilities which are mostly form related (though I'm getting better with the function bit everyday!).
Not quite right Bruce, the cars you mention are the "Japanese National Version" cars which have that option code (SA872 iirc) selected.
There were also quite a number of cars that went to Japan without that option added, some were US models (h-pattern) some were Euro (dog-leg).
The car mentioned in this listing is a Euro model (AK05) sold new in Japan, delving deeper into ETK shows the selection of the Japanese National Version has set the gearbox to the H-pattern.
But as Golfboy has written "Fact" on the Internets I will have to contact my colleagues in Munich to change the Product Library as they are clearly wrong.
Cheers fellas.
I'm looking at tourings at this point for added boot space. Will be an auto as my other car is the play toy with the manual gearbox. This will be the car we have to deal with Auckland traffic in so auto makes much more sense.
Sorry bro the bonnet's got to go. Made me do a little spew in my mouth. As above, maintenance first then mods... But who am I to talk, I sink ridiculous money into old Kaisers.
Also keep the orange indicators, they look mint on a topaz blue car. Clears will cheapen it (although not as much as that bonnet does!). It's a great looking car... Keep it that way!! Haha
