Hi all! Just popping in to say hello. Love this community and love e30s! I bought mine off a bmw enthusiast who had owned it from import, been mine for roughly 2 years and have loved every second of it! Will post a pic when I can (Can you not post on iPhones?) Cheers!

Yep can do, will just need a long enough extension lead for the electrons, and some more fittings to be able to connect to various engine vacuum sources. A small amount of water is produced from all the smoke which seems to only collect in the first section of hose, so will look in to making a moisture trap.

Let's bring it to the next Coffee and Cars in December and we can do leak tests for people. I've also got tiny ADS OBD adapter so can hopefully scan some of the older cars.

New hose clamps and finally got round to replacing the LH bank ignition leads (they were working okay but I had to do the RHS so just did the full set). About as clean as I can get the bay for now until I remove intake manifolds and valve covers... Have been advised that I should do this sooner rather than later thanks to a common issue with loosening banjo bolts (which will ultimately wreck the cams if not treated): Plenty of good solutions though: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2088697-M70-S70-owners-Have-you-checked-your-banjo-bolts

Made a home-made vac. leak tester using a smoke machine (cheers Jooles) and some coolant pipe. Was thinking it would need some compressed air to help get the smoke through the vacuum system, but it appears to work very well. No leaks found aside from what was mentioned in a previous post.

Nothing to do with pads but recomended to change every two years. Just convieniant while the brakes are being done.

Nice to see we both do the same thing. I haven't done this for a while. Must do it in my Soarer once the active suspension is operational

Indeed. And no, not a "story". Pretty well documented, and the team owner spent time in prison for it. Smuggling cocaine back from Europe inside the team transporters and inside equipment. Air bottles iirc? Regardless, a championship winning car, gotta be worth a pretty penny.
