Yup I had a feeling it was stuck in open loop because the wideband reads from 10-11. I jumped the heater wire for a short time and the afr changed to 13.5 steady. As polley said I need to check the wires and sensors to make sure I have them correct. Thanks again, ill check my sensors tonight and report back. Hopefully this will help fix my idling/driving issues.

Shame this isn't in Auckland ... too many politicians and IRD workers down your way to appreciate what it is : P

I honestly have to say that we as a community is blessed to have real enthusiasts like Ray@HellBM that goes out of his way to help out in the name of experiments and for the greater good of the community as a whole. Thanks Ray for putting this up for experimental purposes!!! TRUE CHAMP!!!

I know of a few... have done many rally's, like 15 this year and been all over the place. West coast is beautiful in the South, I come over the crown ranges and headed across and up. Great roads. But, personally, I love a goat track, bumpy, rough, twisty and challenging with narrow bridges, blind brows and jumps in the mix.. preferably with the road closed. From Auckland, in a yawn (road) car, you cant beat the good old drive to Kaiaua for fish and chups... that one corner got me in my E30 once.

At the end of the day, a car is a car underneath. Modern or not, you pull it apart and put it back together again.. and modern cars pull apart and go back together a lot better than old ones I find as the parts are not old and crusty. Nothing to be scared of, I have had pretty much my entire 2006 Megane apart in different stages.. its no different than my old E30's. Something breaks, you google the problem or look it up in a manual, you remove the part, establish if its f**ked or not, order a new pat, fit it... if anything, modern diagnostic tools make it a lot easier, I remember spending the best part of a day trying to get my E30 to idle properly once, ended up swapping out most of the fuel system, was the AFM in the end. With my new car I just plug my scanner in and it pin points quite accurately where the problem is. And..... duct tape and cable ties work on all cars.

Well im keeping the auto tranny in mine, and getting the lads at Jerry Clayton to tune the gearbox ECU. They advised they can get it to .7-.9 second gear changes through the SMG wheel. Its basically wired into the manual shift change.

JF changed drive into a pay-per-view model. Ratings dropped hard, Chris worked out he was the one with all of the automotive relationships with euro car makers etc and decided to start his own channel back up again and keep it free (like the other presenters already have) and just keep on doing what he does. His videos have the same quality, but he has more say on what is released. Videos will be around 3-4 month release .. but their is no set release schedule ... which is good Its the same as mighty car mods model ... product placement is the way forward I believe.

Its all simple supply and demand, generally home ownership in NZ is relatively affordable, just not in Auckland. Adding to what Nick said, NZer's have expectations beyond our means, we've had it very easy for a long time (when compared globally). We do live in one of the best countries in the world, something that is all too easy to take for granted. We've recently got back on the property ladder with a 3 bed, 1/4 acre (1180m2) section, recently renovated, heat pump, log burner, heat transfer thingy and 2x three bay garages. $350k. We're an average 75min drive to AKL CBD (best was 44 min worst 2:20). Most of my work is in Auckland and the travel is a negative but we would't get anything comparable (in a decent school zone) for what we paid. Have a rural outlook, even have dairy cows dropping calves in the paddock next door. We probably won't see any significant gains in value but didn't purchase for that. It a home and by my standards fairly nice at that. Just need time to fill the sheds with toys......

Google has revealed that there's more going on with that 8er than just the Eisenmann exhaust. Loads of other Eisenmann 850i exhaust clips... none sound like that car! But I do like it!!
