Being at the beach, the salt air really hurt my paint. It would get wet, bake in the sun, dry with the salt marking the paint, and repeat. A wash and even a hand polish would still leave marks. A crappy detail prior to purchase also left holograms and swirls. So a paint correction was in order.... I tried to nerd out on research, so ask any questions. Very happy with the results. Here is a album with some before, during, after shots.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=838208307 "Same look like M5 2000 Model" - Yes, identical except for all of the M5 bodykit parts that make an M5 look like an M5. "Face Lift Front and Back" - Yes, except it's not a facelift, it has had some facelift parts added. "BMW M5 Angle eye Head Lights" - Hmmmnnn....

Some photos after today as I got it back - Sam is regarded as the best in Auckland, and I know a few of the forum sponsors on here use him as well. I just wanted a basic swirl removal, and he did just that. Attached are photos of it after being driven from the show etc. and I'm sure those with a black car will understand how hard it is to get that swirl free finish in a black car. I was stoked! Pricing is on his website I believe but obviously is cheaper is you just opt for a few things and not a package. I have a lot of work to do now before it's completely show n shine ready! Just didn't compare to the other cars there today being stock. These photos are taken with an IPhone, and unedited.

Great work Amber. Are you happy with the results of the detailing? Was it expensive?

A drunk guy jumped in my car one night at an intersection... turned out I knew him, so I gave him a ride home. Only in New Zealand

Those window washing pricks at the lights make me paranoid, don't trust 'em as far as as I could kick 'em. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Long time no update! Probably because there is nothing really to update. I got a company car a few months ago and free gas keeps me out of the BMW most days but it was long overdue a clean so thought I'd bring it into work for the day. After driving a Toyota Corolla for 3 months it's nice to sit in a real car again.

This an a few other incidents are why i'm overly security conscious. Its not just with cars either, When touring with my band around NZ & Aus the unfortunate downside is dealing with drunk and other shady people at 3am. You learn to get a pretty good judge of people pretty quick and avoidance is the best way. If it looks like trouble, it pretty much will be. Have door locks set to lock after 30kph (can code that stuff in on '99+ cars) That and driving at night coming up to red light intersections is always scope for opportunists and drunk red light runners (so many of these)...

I saw a Ute with a bumper sticker that said "I am a vet. I drive like an animal." It was only then that I realised how many gynaecologists and proctologists there are on the roads... ;-)
