2 pointsSnapped this up on the weekend, cheers Richard. Absolutely mint example of an e36. 1997 Msport coupe 125xxxkm JerkCo Auto BBS RX-204 17x8 all round M3 mirrors Few cool options ticked: Estoril blue (Individual option) M3 Evo Steering wheel Clear Indicators all round HI-FI audio (Still sounds excellent) Heated Leather seats Sunroof Heated mirrors and Door locks. Quick photo with Phone taken on Sunday. Will take more this weekend after I spend all Saturday cleaning/polishing both exterior and interior (leather is in need of a clean and the whole interior needs a good vacuum). Bought this to have as a fun daily car with the ability to be a weekend warrior or a nice road-trip car. Already have a manual conversion sorted out - will be purchasing conversion and building up a clutch within the next month or so then converting it with the help of Jayden (Ibboostn). To-do list, not in any particular order: -Clean thoroughly -LED angel eyes (on their way, ssshhh, I like them on e36's) -Color matched boot lip spoiler (Ordered, on it's way) -Replace Bonnet struts (on their way) -ZF Manual conversion - Full conversion + Clutch, pressure plate and Single mass flywheel have been purchased, picking up on 03/09 - Completed 20/09 -Respray BBS RX-204 in current color or Shadowchrome. May just plastidip them black with a graphite metallizer in the meantime, the rear rims are peeling. (Actually purchasing new BBS RG on 21/09) -Fix Sunroof -Replace RTA bushings - Cracking according to inspection, however still an extremely tight feeling rear end. (Purchased 20/09) -Replace Front Trailing arm bushings - same as above. -Replace all bulbs in instrument cluster, air con, 11 button OBC etc. Instrument cluster has quite a few blown. (Anyone have the part number for the bulbs i require for the instrument cluster or able to direct me to a link for said bulbs?) -Fix very funny issue - Radio goes completely static when rear window demister is turned on - I guess there's a broken circuit somewhere. -Lower slightly, not going to slam it but want it sitting a few mm lower. -s50 midpipes + backbox -m50 Intake manifold swap -K&N cold air intake kit -Fully inspect cooling system, from what I've checked so far there's indication that the general replacement of components has been completed, but wish to confirm this to see if I need to perform preventative maintenance. -Replace rear speakers. Fronts sound great, but the rears could do with being replaced with some nice pioneer units. -Replace thermostat and install alloy thermostat housing -Install 18 button OBC -Retrofit remote locking sensor to my auto-dimming mirror and install auto-dimming mirror into car Overall extremely happy with the car. All suspension components are nice and tight, handles much better than my previous cars (e46 manual 323ci), 300zx, integra type r, multiple subarus, Oettinger Golf V6 4motion etc) and the motor feels extremely strong. As smooth as the auto is I can't wait to manual convert it and have it as it was intended, a real drivers' car. Will keep this thread updated with progress on things, and will add more photos once I clean it. Thanks guys

2 pointsNext time I'm at Zebra parts I'll have a look, though they say there's non in stock there's atleast two. Both had interiors in very good condition. Also one had double glazed? windows, like the rear quarter had been smashed and it had another layer of thick glass under it that hadn't broken.

2 pointsGetting M20 timing belt on 5 min after making a grumpy post in the rant thread. Just had to keep better tension on the long side of the belt and shift the cam gear about 0.5mm to one side. I love having a project car in the garage. Happy Tuesday everybody

1 pointGLWS. Just drove our one of these down to Tauranga in the weekend. Like you say, the grip is insane, and it is a great car but only problem was a tad underpowered for my taste on overtaking.. Nice one on the panoramic sunroof, wish we had that!

1 pointHaving had a lady "friend" come to stay for the weekend I don't know whats worse. Not being able to find stuff I want because she found a new home for it or finding stuff I don't want(toothbrush, hair cap and products in bathroom) because she left it behind.

1 pointI was being serious. And a little can be dangerous, however if researched by someone with a mechanical aptitude the result can be achieved with the right tools, the right parts and patience. The cost of paying someone to do this can be horrendous and can be more than what some of these vehicles are worth when you add up all the other problems the car might have . I proved this today doing a PPI after the fact a member purchased a vehicle and I'm doing another PPI tomorrow which I'm hoping will be much better for the punter.

1 pointthis is a fair accessment. Kyu. But I'm sure you are probably safe to drive a $1000 car into town. If the country is serious about getting the road toll down then there needs to be some realisation that it's not just speed and booze. I mean they can throw up all the Police checks they like (I have no problem with them) but yesterday I followed a procession of 5 cars following a complete POS at 20km/r down a main road. It had 1 reverse light on and either no indicators or he didn't use them as he weaved left and right moving between 5-20kph before he crashed into a curb. Seriously. How is he competent to drive. He couldn't drive down a suburban street. No wonder the car looked like it had been in a demo derby. Imagine him on the open road in that? Let alone past a school at lunchtime which he was. it seems to me the most incompetent drivers also drive vehicles not fit for the purpose they are using them for. Police need to target that 1%. hahah........a bit off subject. Maybe I should move this to the rant section. I'm going to make a great grumpy old man I reckon.

1 pointFor 15k being spent on an e30 that isn't an M3, or 327i etc, you'd expect an absolutely immaculate example. e30 tax is a thing, people are charging a premium price simply because they're popular with the "stance scene" in recent years. That price often doesn't take into account the condition of the vehicle. I think you're a bit tunnel-visioned on wanting to buy a car ASAP, as opposed to shopping around and waiting for the perfect car (that fits your budget) to come along. Multiple people have stated that the e30 you're interested in (black ///m325i) isn't in the greatest condition, the current owner drives it with gusto, and it doesn't appear to run 100% right. Take that into account as you'll be spending more money on the car in the near future if you decide to purchase it.

1 pointWhen we were in Las Vegas the hotel had a channel called Discovery Velocity, I think this may be the same thing. Looking forward to it, makes a change from re-re-re-re-re-runs of Top Gear on BBC Knowledge

1 pointAs obtuse as this advice is, a used m62tu would more than likely be less than the repair bill for the job in car.
-
1 pointBuy a degree wheel and a DTI with 1" stroke, make a TDC dead stop and find the center lines of both cams including lift If not remove the cam and use a cam doctor
-
1 pointWould hope you will seriously readdress his asking price. He is in noddy land with the car condition v his price. Good luck
-
1 pointTime for another M something. Yeah. The X5 is .... too good. At everything. It's boring. It's the weight plus grip. it's incredible. bucketing down I'm doing twice the speed of any other car on the road with no problems. I think it's the perfect car for when I'm 60.

1 pointa bit of a thread dig but i thought id just share my story. i started smoking when i was around 15 years old. curiosity led to habit and bad influences kept it going and now over 10 years of it i think ive finally had enough. kind of unrelated but i had a mini schnauzer 4 years ago and due to unfortunate circumstances i was unable to take care of him and gave him to my friend who has taken wonderful care of him. recently he and another lovely girl made beautiful little puppies and i finally made the decision to adopt one. i am so looking forward to it and being in a position to look after, care for and love a dog. i thought what better opportunity than to have my boy's little girl. anyway, this led me to think about my own life and smoking in particular. i know it sounds a bit silly but i know i dont want to be a smoker infront of the little pup and i knew i would always quit before i had my own child, and thought why not quit now. so i will be getting the dog home tomorrow (hopefully) and will start my long and painful journey of kicking the habit. im a 'pack every 2 days' smoker for the last how many years and i know it will be tough but its obviously worth it in the long run for my health, those around me and also on my wallet. I am planning to make a separate account to transfer the money i would otherwise spend on cigarettes and put it towards funding my dog's toys, vet costs, etc etc lol. anyways, i thought id post up here because i know there are a few people on this forum who have also previously been smokers and i would greatly appreciate any kind of input, good or bad. and also i wanted to make it relatively public so i also can give myself the reassurance that i do want to see this through. (no offence to smokers in any way whatsoever btw haha) my plan is cold turkey. no alternatives or anything in mind so far but any suggestions are welcome thanks again all kyu

1 pointSpotted a Black F10 at the lights today and when I pulled up along side there was a little grey haired old lady in the drivers seat. Hate to say it but my first thought was "that cars wasted on you". She looks over and sees me looking and gives me a smile. Lights turn green and I'm left eating her exhaust. Smoked at the lights by a 70 year old lady. Not cool. Hope she had a good laugh about it. I did..
