What gets me, is the folks who have listed their car and have 10 photos of the same side of the car and no interior, engine bay, boot etc etc.

Hi guys, Ken from Auckland. New to the BMW platform and forums but always been a car enthusiast, mostly in front wheel drive, 4 cylinder direct injection turbocharged engine. So now BMW for a change. E30 series runs factory system. If you want to run an external pump, get a low pressure in tank lift pump (as fitted to some E30 318's that ran two pumps) to replace the in tank hi pressure unit. Cant really imagine though that factory system doesn't have enough flow. Edit, Josh posted as i was replying. To insulate - just get the factory external pump mounting brackets which have rubber conrols to mount the pump

Pre FL you need a low pressure high volume pick up pump covering the tank to swirl pot part. Then use the main high pressure low volume pump to move fuel from the swirl pot to the filter-> regulator -> fuel rail. The return from the rail needs to come back to the swirl pot. If you hard mount a after market pump, it ill make lots of noise otherwise you can soft mount it externally with no issues. Use teflon coated fuel lines... dont just use standard fuel line else youll have a fuel smell in the internal parts of the car.

Forgot to mention the bigger problem of the pump being too big for the regulator and as a result making your car run terribly rich. If you've never had a car with an external pump before be prepared for a terrible amount of noise. Look at how some of the older fuel injected mercs run them to get ideas of how to quieten them down If you plumb it so the return goes back to the tank vs the surge tank you'll loose some heat. What do the e30 series do

I run Invo's on one M5, and PSS on the other. The Invo's have much worse wet weather grip then the Michelin's

I've had RE050A Bridgestones (XL) all round on the M for the last 15 months. TBH I can't fault them for the price. The big plus is they don't wear as fast as the premium tyres on our tar seal roads.

Drove it on the beautifully twisty roads up to the Corromandel.

Haha I'm thinking so!So today was another day of playing bmws in the scortching south island heat. Touring2.0 got a centre arm rest installed this morning followed by an upgrade of the basic 8 button Obc for a 18 button. Was pretty straight forward as I remembered it, but had to run a new cable out to the temp sensor since it didn't have one before. All works well apart from the range feature, but is always inaccurate so doesn't really bother me. Also went to fit a tech2 m sport wheel while it was off but it's a non airbag one and couldn't be bother messing around with it so jus the standard sport one went back on. And pics after lows fitted. Still need to sort my other wheels out for it to, ether the acs rensports or the Mcoupe roadstars

yea my mate has always wanted 540i but only wanted a good well cared for tidy one just the mtec kit yes have to go through the rereged process not anymore yea manual would be nice , but I don't think my mate can afford that cost unless I give him a kit yes nice build spec , sport seats , sports suspension , but could do with some new shocks now

Couldn't help myself, purchased one of these. Genuine BMW product so keeps with my keep it authentic theme, not to mention proven aero and quality

I'm a jack of all trades but master of none (although I do have a degree in Fine Art which qualifies me for pretty much f*ck all) The car is pretty professional so almost certainly well planned and obviously nothing to do with me! All of mine are drawn and cut by eye/hand with scissors and a box cutter. Not a ruler in sight! Me too. My dad build WWII planes that he saw as a kid from scratch out of balsa wood. Blew me away when I inherited them. My son seems to love the stuff we build but has an unwavering passion for "toys made out of plastic" - the modern child!!
