So, this is now sorted and she's officially a "daily" now. Was a matter of getting the system properly bled, there was air remaining in the system. Love the self bleeding system on the M3, this manual system sucks balls. But I'm there now, heater blows hot and the temp gauge doesn't budge from centre. New synthetic oil and filter to match also done this weekend as well as a wash, she's looking as good as she's going to get I think (aka pretty average). Fuel and spark seem fine but I'll check them out over time. Idle is perfect and pull is what I'd expect for a slush-box. So far $2,500 in and pretty happy. Trans oil and filter next, Glenn's on my list for a call this week and if the price is right I'll get his guys to do that for me.

Yip had a fair bit of interest, about 68 watches on trade me and three definitive 'I'll buy it', so good to sell, sad to see leave

wow that was quick, congratulations! I propose a new interweb abbreviation, in addition to the "GLWS": NLNWS (No Luck Needed With Sale)! Needless to say this only applies to the most desireable cars, regardless of age or price.

I want to hunt down a nice late E34 M5 next year. But I will look in the southern states where they don't salt the roads. But also have some big trips planned so will see how it goes. There are few really nice E34's, 21's, 2002's and E30's around my area in DC. They are all worth a bit now though. I was thinking an E46 or E39 for a daily too. 330i and 530/40's are less than 3k. I even saw a E46 ZHP 2005 manual for $4500 the other day. Best non M3 E46 you can get. Spoiled for choice. Also you may want to ask on the forums for any local wreckers or stateside wreckers that deal in older BMW's. There are a few smaller NZ style ones around that run more on word of mouth than anything else. But they are the ones that have the hard to find stuff.

The local murrays want their land back and in the process demolishing the building so I have to downscale on a few things, princess was at the end of her life anyway. But parts of her will live on. A friend wanted the roof for his own E28 project, so the roof was removed. She was then flipped on her side for removal of the diff and engine/gearbox. Is anyone looking for a V12 auto box? Princess is now a husk, pushed into the bushes with a bobcat and waiting for the scrappy to come pick her up. It was fun while it lasted. I think I had just as much fun building her as I did destroying her.
