Had a awesome time up in Taupo for the mega meet at the end of October! was great to see that many E30s and meet all the other E30 owners Car ran like a dream the whole way up from Christchurch. i think i covered about 1600km in the 4 days without a hickup. So really pleased with how reliable this car has been! Also had some sweet snaps taken of the car while i was up there, i added my favorite. Managed to get hold of a tech 1 spoiler last week which i think suits the car a lot more than the standard lip i had. Also got a blank parcel tray to go with my factory head unit blank Weekend just gone i got all the Germans out for a photo shoot on the driveway!!

I know this car pretty well, in fact its' first NZ owner is a BMWCC stalwart and one of the original race series guys. My mate bought if off him. So, the car has been traded and this knob has bought it from the dealer (he most likely works there) and has decided to make some $$ for xmas. Good luck to him. Saying that, the Awesome Sound with crisp sounding speakers that will make you feel awesome just makes we want to buy my mates old car. I ate a pie in this car too and once blew cigarette smoke in the passengers window.

So I guess this is where I should do a little write up and add all the stuff my dad has done on his 74 2002. It all began about 5 years ago when dad got the car in a dereg state that needed a full restore. Rusty sills were replaced and the full car was stripped down to bare metal, razor blades were used to scrape the layers of paint back, the car was originally green, but once we scraped off the red paint it was finally back to the bare metal. The drivers side floor was repaired too due to rust, finally making the car rust free! Unfortunitly dad didnt really get any pictures during the build of the car or of it in its stripped state. The guards were then cut and then welded to allow for the flares to be bolted on along with the BBS RS 15x8 et13 offset reps to be installed. This proved to be a bit of an issue come recompliance where an LVV Cert was also needed, this passed easily but added to the cost of the build. We managed to pick up a mint Tan leather interior out of a 635csi. This fitted in perfectly and the rear bucket seats look amazing and are amazingly comfy! The original 2L m10 single carby engine still powers it all but maybe one day in the future a twin carb setup or injected setup might be added to make the car a little easier to use as a bit more of a daily driver. The paint was chosen to be Polaris Silver, as the original 2002 turbos only came in the white or silver and my grandfather at the time owning a 1974 E9 3.0CS in polaris silver. So I guess here is the place where I will post some glamour shots of her! I have only shot the outside of the car but Im sure over time I will continue to utilize the little car as a stand in model whenever I want something pretty to take photos of! If you want to know more about this car feel free to ask, dad has a whole lot more on it and Im sure we will add more to the story of this car!

I'm sure they could, and it's probably not worth buying just the gears from them. Get some polybushes or something else useful, and add the gears to the order. The VDO gearkit is USD17, the Motometer one is $30. Worldwide shipping is USD 13.95.

This will be because you are using switched 12V power on the pin that needs constant 12V (i.e. connected straight from battery) the stereo uses constant 12V to retain the presets and the switched 12V to turn on the unit when you put the key in. Figure these out and it should be all good.

the radio resetting will be cuz u need to wire up a continuous supply of power line (dont know exactly what its called) but theres usually 2 wires for power, most likely you've only connected the one or done something wrong. it shouldnt reset if connected right

I recall Dads E30 manual saying something along the lines of: if you've done a lot of town/low speed driving, to take it on the highway and use a gear or two lower for a while . It sounded like a PC/Professional way of telling you to give it a gentle italian tuneup.

Yeah, but TXTing an offer and paying the cash are two different things. I am half tempted to send him a text and then waste most of his day driving it and pulling it to pieces, but luckily I have better things to do with my time at the moment....

the one thing I've always wanted to do was to retrofit the e36 msport door trims onto an e30. Could you please do it??

It left the garage under its own power whoop whoop!!!!! so stoked. A few little things to rectify that i overlooked when building the expansion tank, regular radiator caps dont hold enough pressure for the system and need to relocate the outlet as its sitting too close to the firewall. Unfortunately it wont stay at this height as exhaust clearance is very minimal so will look at a larger tyre and raise the suspension more but still keep the fitment nice. Getting close now, really starting to like the look of the two tone!

"don't even bother asking me if there is and issue because you will not find one" then: "CHECK NUMPLATE LIGHT" Perhaps one mans perfect is another mans... er... not?

Could be a fluid issue but I would still take it to a trans specialist first, get a proper diagnosis because if a flush doesn't fix, you've just wasted coin on fluid you didn't need.
